A compilation of 1980's & 1990's styled compositions meant to emulate the feel of retro library music that would be used for commercial usage.

Tyme Machine

A piece of music composed with something Sonic like in mind. For the purpose of this, I wanted to capture somewhat of an island feel with some of the instrument elements in this as well as capturing the feeling of a city level vibe too by having it sound overly synthesized and vibrant.

Cosmic Highway

This originally started as a Spring Yard Zone remix but during the process I remembered that I had always wanted to compose something I thought would fit for Sonic. So for this, I was inspired a lot by Michael and Janet Jackson and Tee Lopes who composed for Sonic Mania, going for that old New Jack Swing/ Japanese City Pop fusion with MJ's overall percussion drive and bass licks.
As for the name Diamond Palace, well it doesn't really make any sense for how this sounds, maybe some of the synths but the name sounded pretty.

Diamond Palace Zone

I was recently commissioned to compose some original music, similar to my other Sudwave stuff but with the vibe to feel like a 'celebration'. I was inpsired by some of the Sonic Mania OST for this to capture that fun video gamey vibe.

Summertime

This idea has been circulating in my head for a long time and I've been meaning to find the energy to actually put it together. That DX7 melody was the first thing I kept hearing in my head and the 'quacking' brass in the background was also a must.

Shopping Trip

Ok, the title. I now, it's not really a proper title is it? But this was just a random  idea thrown out by Jessie and to be honest, I think it's perfect. This track is just so *throw any adventure based saturday morning cartoon here* and there you have it. All jokes aside, this is perhaps one of the most fun tracks I've ever had to make. Commissioned by Gguru1, who's imagination oozes with ideas of potential shows that could've happened in the late 80s/ early 90s. You know the kind, DiC Shows. It's fun to write music for an era that kind of never happened, that's the goal with the original stuff.

I wanna say a big thanks to Kristian also for the awesome guitar and saxophone VST's which really brought out that classic vibe to the track. Honestly, it changed so much and the guitar adds such a nice funky rhythm that this track really needed!

The Adventures Of...

Just a small 'logo' type theme, reminiscent of those old VHS startups from back in the day.

Intro

The main melody of this had been going round in my head and I knew exactly what sound I wanted for this so on a wing and a prayer, this was made. I wanted that kind of '70s'  vibe with having more 'acoustic' instrumentation but have a few Moog synths thrown in too, to kind of pay homage to those obscure electronic albums of the 60s-80s. 

Jean-Jacques Perrey was probably my main inspiration for this as well as a few things I've done in the past. Definetly want to try more jazzy pieces though, this was fun.

The Bargain Bounce

A very spontaneous idea that just happened out the blue, after creating 'Bargain Bounce' I was eager to try something like that again. So i started this, which was originally much slower with the intention of being another Supermarket themed song but I could perhaps release that mix too.

Toy Parade

A track I wrote to emulate those flamboyant and funky theme songs from between the 90s to the early 2000s. Something that told you there was going to be crazy adventures going on, so going for a slight jazz approach with the horns always fits that trope. 
There's a touch of 'Footloose' going on here but hey, it gets the party going right? 
The reason why I called it 'marathon' is because I wrote it in mind with one of those 'Get ready kids, for the wackiest, fundoodliest Saturday ever!' and the narrator goes on to announce the fleet of shows for our pleasure.

Saturday Morning Marathon

An idea that I've had for a while, to create some sort of 'calypso', Mario Kart, City-Pop ish kind of track. This was going to sound much different but it eventually came into this. Experimenting with more jazz chords again, really helping to bring the '80s' in this piece.
I think some of Sonic CD/Mania comes into play in the chorus section, amping up the 'actiony' sound as opposed to the happier verse sections.

Coconut Paradise

I sometimes just get these random ideas and they have to go down instantly at some points. This one started out to be a typical sitcom opening but as I got into that key change, I was getting a 'Rainbow Road' hit again. 
So it became a 'fast car' based track but I thought it would suit potentially as a theme song for an old anime about racing in the city or something.

Cityline Cruiser

The story behind this one, I was commissioned to replicate a piece of 'actiony' and upbeat music for a Battle Theme for 'Jack Be Lethal, Jack Be Slick'. 

I was given an old episode of 'The Real Ghostbusters' which had a theme with some similarities and was told to write something of a similar feel, so I went to work. Some of this was inpsired by some of the music from the Dragon Ball series, especially some of the game OSTs which I'm a big fan of. 

I'd absolutely love to get into making both Faulconer and Kikuchi type stuff, both soundtracks are amazing.

Choose Your Fighter!

So the story behind this one is that I wanted to create an upbeat 80's sitcom theme that gave the impression it was show centered around a family or maybe in a middle school. 
All those recent 80s AI pictures really gave the inspiration to do something like that.

80's Daytime TV

Well... here's the second in the 'Shopping' Series, I wanted to make a track closer to 'Lucky Man' which is the quintessential retro shopping track. These kind of tracks are always fun though, very vibey.

Shopping Trip - Pt. 2

Back with another 'Theme Tune', this was just a completely random idea I had that I thought I'd put together. Modelled similarly after the 'Daytime TV' one. Always got to have a sax, it's not primetime cheese without it!

80's Family Sitcom

Commissioned by Gguru1.

This was heavily inspired by the original Japanese score for Dragon Ball Z by Shunsuke Kikuchi. Tried to go for acoustic/ synth blend he'd often do for those scores. Easily one of my favorites to compose.

Sunday Market

Another in the 'commercial' theme of music, well sort of. I've always wanted to compose an elevator music piece, Bossa Nova style. I'm too fond of the DX7 to not use it for 'catchy' pieces, the horn is so charming.

Elevator Ride

A theme composed as some sort of upbeat ambient backing for a montage of an engine pulling their train through the countryside in one of the older episodes.

The Travelling Theme

A nostalgic type of piece that was somewhat inspired by Simple Minds, I wanted to create a track that sounded very 'video gamey' but also could be used for an advert if that makes sense, I guess that's just my go to intention with a lot of my creations lol.

Taking Flight

This originally started out MUCH slower than what it is, I planned for it to be another 'Travelling Theme' but after speeding it up and adding more instrumentation, I prefered it this way.

Returning Home

A young aspiring composer from the UK. I specialise mainly in creating music that would fit in the period of late 20th century television. I spent many years recreating the 'Thomas' soundtrack and gradually went on into my own works, creating music of many different genres.
