Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– Ṣidq (Truthfulness): The Characteristic of a Believer and Its Opposite — Lying.

– “O you who believe! Be conscious of Allāh, and be with those who are true in words and deeds.” (Sūrat al-Tawbah 9:119)

– Truthfulness emanates from the heart and manifests on the tongue and the limbs.

– “If they had been true to Allāh, that would have been better for them.”

– It is upon you to cling to the truth, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise.

– Beware and stay away from lying, as it leads to immoral and wicked behavior, and that leads to the Fire.

– Leave that which causes you to doubt for that which does not cause you to doubt.

– Truthfulness leads to tranquility.

– This characteristic is appreciated by everyone, while lying is hated by all.

– Reflect on the reward that Allāh has prepared for the truthful believers — both men and women.

– Indeed, your Lord has forbidden immorality — both what is apparent and what is hidden — along with sins and oppressive behavior without due right, and associating partners with Allāh for which He has given no authority.

– A statement of Ibn al-Qayyim regarding the most heinous of sins.

– The severity of lying against others and its consequences.

- The consequences of greedily striving for the dunyā. 

- The nearness of the ākhirah.

- “Verily the likeness of (this) worldly life is as the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, so by it arises the intermingled produce of the earth of which men and cattle eat until when the earth is clad with its adornments and is beautified, and its people think that they have all the powers of disposal over it, Our Command reaches it by night or by day and We make it like a clean-mown harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday! Thus do We explain the āyāt in detail for the people who reflect. Allāh calls to the home of peace and guides whom He wills to a Straight Path.” [Sūrah Yūnus 10:24-25]

- The home we all wish to return to.

[08/08/2025] The Importance of Shukr and Ṣabr - Khuṭbah by Shaykh ‘Abdulilah Lahmami حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid Salafi, Small Heath, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

- “And indeed We bestowed upon Luqmān al-Ḥikmah (wisdom and religious understanding, etc.) saying: ‘Give thanks to Allāh,’ and whoever gives thanks, he gives thanks for (the good of) himself. And whoever is unthankful, then verily, Allāh is All-Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all praise.” [Sūrah Luqmān 31:12]

- The meaning of wisdom.

- What it entails to be grateful to Allāh. 

- The inevitability of death and its agonies. 

- The importance of taking care of our dīn and guarding our prayers. 

- The consequence of not guarding the prayer. 

- Āyāt and aḥādīth that highlight the great station of the prayer. 

- "Shayṭān wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allāh and from aṣ-Ṣalāh (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?” [Sūrah al-Mā’idah 5:91]

- That which will help us in the dhikr of Allāh. 

- Proof that the heaviest thing on the scales on Yawm al-Qiyāmah is ‘aqīdah.  

- Guarding our hearts until we meet Allāh. 

- True reliance upon Allāh. 

- “And Paradise will be brought near to the Pious—(while they look on)—without being far (from them). (It will be announced): ‘This (is the reward) you were promised—(it is granted) to every oft-repenting, preserver (of Allāh’s covenant).’” [Sūrah Qāf 50:31-32]

- Striving in what is left of our lives and being consistent upon istighfār and tawbah. 

- Caution against wasting our time with social media. 

- The importance of the morning and evening supplications. 

- ‘Abdullāh b. ‘Umar (رضى الله عنهما) on how we should approach every morning and evening.
