    - A divine principle established in the dīn: Whoever leaves something for the Sake of Allāh, Allāh will exchange it with something better.
    - The replacement for the one who abandons kufr. 
    - The reward on the Day of Judgement for the one who withholds his rage. 
    - The reason Allāh will screen the conversation between Him and His slave on the Day of Judgement.
    - The reward for the man who fears Allāh when he is called by a beautiful woman of position.

[14/02/2022] Words of Advice to the One Seeking Knowledge - By Abu Hakeem Bilāl Davis حفظه الله. Short words of advice, answering questions regarding seeking knowledge after the weekly Tafsir Ibn Kathir class.

Some points discussed during this advice:

⁃ That which the da’wah of the Prophet ﷺ was based upon and the importance of being familiar with the texts of the Book and the Sunnah.
⁃ The effectiveness of quoting the verses of the Book of Allāh upon the hearts.
⁃ Contemplating upon our ability to convey the legacy left by the Messenger ﷺ if the responsibility was solely on our shoulders.
⁃ The importance of equipping ourselves to be carriers of this legacy.

The level of importance that should be given to memorising.

⁃ Giving priority to memorising the small texts in ‘Aqīdah after the Book of Allāh and what one is able to memorise from the Sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ.
⁃ Being familiar with and beginning one’s da’wah with the fundamental texts such as Uṣūl ath-Thalāthah, Qawā’id al-Arba’a and ‘Aqīdatul-Wāsiṭiyyah.

Things that prevent a student from learning.

⁃ From the best of the books written on this topic: ‘Awā’iquṭ-Ṭalab of Shaykh ‘Abdus-Salām b. Barjis (رحمه الله).
⁃ From the things that may be present prior to him embarking upon studying:
⁃ 1. Characteristics such as kibr.
⁃ 2. Being deceived by Shaytān that one is too old and not able to memorise/study.
⁃ 3. Not having a sincere intention.
⁃ 4. Not being familiar with the methodology of studying.
⁃ 5. Pursuing the dunyā.

Jealousy among students of knowledge who are at a similar stage/level.

⁃ Constantly checking oneself and one’s ikhlāṣ.
⁃ If a person is badly affected by the progression of his companion, he must ask himself:
⁃ How is he in relation to his own sincerity in his seeking of knowledge?
⁃ How is he in relation to the statement of the Prophet ﷺ, “Love for your brother what you love for yourself”?
⁃ He should use that as a form of encouragement and put in more effort.
⁃ He should pay attention to the fact that the race is not for the swift but those who can endure.

- Text: بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ - In the Name of Allāh, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy
- The meaning of the word ‘basmalah’ and clarification regarding the meaning of ‘mufti’.

- Examples of the Messenger ﷺ beginning with the basmalah in his letters to the kings and leaders of his time.

Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Sālih Al-Uthaymeen’s رحمه الله explanation:

“Knowledge of the Religion of Islam with its proofs” ‎- وَمَعْرِفَةُ دِينِ الإِسْلامِ بالأَدِلَّةِ

⁃ The general and the specific meaning of Islam

⁃ Clarification of who can be called a Muslim and can the Jews and Christians be called Muslims?
⁃ Whoever follows the Prophet Muhammad is classed as a Muslim and the one who opposes him is not a Muslim.
Shaykh Ubayd al Jaabiri’s رحمه الله explanation:
“Knowledge of the Religion of Islam with its proofs” ‎- وَمَعْرِفَةُ دِينِ الإِسْلامِ بالأَدِلَّةِ
⁃ A very important principle regarding the origin of worship and the origin of worldly affairs is derived from this which everyone should know:
⁃ Examples and applications of the above principle

⁃ Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah’s رحمه الله wording/ statement of the above principle
⁃ Shaykh Ubayd رحمه الله brings further principles to reinforce the meaning of the above principle by bringing the important narration of Ali Ibn Abi Taalib
⁃ Further emphasis is shown through the statement of Imaam Malik: Everyone’s speech can be accepted and rejected except the person in this grave (and he pointed to the grave of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم)
⁃ How does a Salafi measure people’s statements and actions? By measuring against the Quran and the Sunnah and the Ijma of the Salafus Sālih
⁃ Explanation of “with its proofs’
⁃ What are the conditions of an act of worship for it to be accepted

⁃ The importance of knowledge and acting upon it and the severe rebuke of those who don’t act upon their knowledge
⁃ He draws the comparison between the Jews and Christians and offers further explanation of this from the Quran about the Bani Isrā'īl.
⁃ Knowledge is the key to piety and the door to all good
⁃ Tremendous Narration of Abu Darda رضي الله عنه whilst he was in Damascus of a man that came from Madinah seeking a hadeeth from the Prophet ﷺ “Whoever treads a path seeking knowledge Allah makes the path easy for him…”Highlighting the importance of seeking knowledge and the superiority of the scholars
⁃ The correlation between having a sincere intention and striving hard to seek knowledge with how much knowledge an individual can attain

– Whoever is neglectful in doing actions during their youth, good health, in riches, free time and during their life then he will not be able to do it in his old age, sickness, poverty, preoccupation and at time of death.

1. Patience upon the obedience of Allah

3. Patience upon what Allah has decreed
– Principle: whether you understand the trial, you must remain patient upon the decree.
– Shaykh Fawzan:
Principle regarding sins: if you err then you must return back to the truth if you are the one that is wrong. If you are a person on truth and you did not err then you must exercise patience, seeking the reward of Allah and reflect upon the way of the Prophets and their patience, awaiting the aid of Allah.
– Shaykh Uthaymīn:
Statement from Ibnul Qayyim regarding: Striving against oneself and its levels:
1. Strive to learn guidance and the true religion
2. Strive to act upon the knowledge that you have gained.
Principle: if you can’t help yourself, you will not be able to help others. Rectifying yourself will aid others.
3. Strive to call to the way of Allah and teach those who aren’t aware of it.
4. Strive to remain patient with those around him.
– If a person acts upon these four levels then they will be Rabbaniyoon
– Shaykh Zayd al Madhkhali:
Beautiful Benefit regarding Surah Al-Asr explaining those who are the elite and the saved people.
