– The blessing of the tongue.

– Reflection upon how different types of people use the blessing of the tongue with various examples.
– The Messenger ﷺ feared for his ummah regarding the tongue.
– Various aḥadīth clarifying the dangers of the tongue.
– {They may hide from men, but they cannot hide (them) from Allah, for He is with them (by His Knowledge), when they plot by night in words that He does not approve, And Allah ever encompasses what they do} (Surah Al-Nisa:108).
– The story of "al-Ifk" demonstrates the consequences of the utterance of evil from the tongue.
– A further example of the great consequences of vile rumours that were spread about the noble companion Uthmān ibn Affān

– Reflection from the Prophet’s ﷺ Night Journey specifically regarding the punishment of backbiting, lying, slandering.
– Beautiful principle: If you truly believe in Allāh and the Messenger, speak good or remain silent.
– Various aḥadith showing the path to Jannah and salvation which are linked to the safety of the tongue.
– Encouragement to increase in the du'ā made by the Prophet ﷺ related to seeking refuge with Allāh from the evil of our tongue, sight, hearing etc.
