- A glimpse into the life of Abū ‘Abdillāh Ḥudhayfah b. Yamān (رضى الله عنهما).
- The keeper of the names of the munāfiqūn (hypocrites). 
- Reflecting upon ‘Umar’s (رضى الله عنه) fear of being from the hypocrites despite being given the glad tidings of Paradise. 
- Ḥudhayfah’s vigilance against fitnah and falling into it.
- The tremendous forgiveness and forbearance of Ḥudhayfah when his father was mistakenly killed in the Battle of Uḥud.
- The story of what occurred when the Messenger ﷺ sent him to get news from the enemy on the night of al-Aḥzāb. 
- His readiness to follow the command of the Messenger ﷺ, and an amazing affair that occurred as a result of that.
- His bravery, intelligence and ability to withhold himself. 
- Encouragement to read the biographies of the Companions (رضى الله عنهم أجمعين).

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

- The dress code of the Muslim 
- The rotation of the seasons and weather is a sign from Allāh 
- The heat of summer and reflecting upon the heat of the Hellfire 
- The two exhalations of the hellfire
- The relation to the story of Ibrahīm عليه السلام
- The statement of Al-Hasan Al-Basri رحمه الله regarding the heat and cold of the dunyā
- Reflecting upon the severe heat of the hellfire and the unrelenting, eternal punishment therein

- ۞ هَـٰذَانِ خَصْمَانِ ٱخْتَصَمُوا۟ فِى رَبِّهِمْ ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ قُطِّعَتْ لَهُمْ ثِيَابٌۭ مِّن نَّارٍۢ يُصَبُّ مِن فَوْقِ رُءُوسِهِمُ ٱلْحَمِيمُ ١٩
{These two opponents (believers and disbelievers) dispute with each other about their Lord: then as for those who disbelieved, garments of fire will be cut out for them, boiling water will be poured down over their heads.} [22:19]
- The seven types of people who will be under the shade of Allāh on the Day of Judgement

Do Not Let the Fitnah of the Hot Summer Days Lead You to the Hellfire by Abu Idrees

A valuable lesson about not giving up hope, realising that it's never too late to turn that corner and make a change in your life in turning to Allah.  Exemplified from the inspiring story of how Fuḍayl Ibn ‘Iyāḍ changed his life to become one of the great Scholars in stark contrast to his life before turning to his Lord the most High.
