[26/12/2021] Advice To Youth of Masjid As-Sunnah, Cranford, West London - by Abu Hakeem Bilāl Davis حفظه الله. The brothers at Masjid As-Sunnah, Cranford arranged a day trip to Birmingham for a large group of youth. During their visit, they had a sitting with Abu Hakeem Bilal Davis حفظه الله at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston. Some very beneficial advice was delivered, hence, we present it here in hope that it benefits many others. May Allāh reward all those involved in arranging this event.  

Some points discussed during this lesson:

- The blessing of the youth being upon the Sunnah in this time, and being grateful to Allāh for it.
- The perfection and ease of the Sharī’ah of this Ummah vs the previous nations. 
- From the characteristics of Ahlus-Sunnah: establishing the Houses of Allāh for His worship. 
- Being ardent over the prayer. 
- The prerequisite of having knowledge in order to enjoin good and forbid evil.
- A warning against wasting the years of youth and an encouragement to cling to the elders.
- Having lofty aspirations in seeking knowledge.

[25/12/2021] Verily the Promise of Allāh is True! - By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله at The Salafi Centre of Manchester, UK.

    - A divine principle established in the dīn: Whoever leaves something for the Sake of Allāh, Allāh will exchange it with something better.
    - The replacement for the one who abandons kufr. 
    - The reward on the Day of Judgement for the one who withholds his rage. 
    - The reason Allāh will screen the conversation between Him and His slave on the Day of Judgement.
    - The reward for the man who fears Allāh when he is called by a beautiful woman of position.
    - The great fruits of Taqwá. 
    - The result of giving in charity.
    - The reward for pardoning and forgiving our brothers and sisters. 
    - The outcome of humility. 
    - Putting ourselves to test regarding our claim of clinging to the Salafī Manhaj.
    - Believing in the Promise of Allāh and not letting the chief deceiver (Shayṭān) deceive us.
    - The promise of Allāh for the believers who aid Him, and the meaning of “aiding Allāh”.
    - The promise of Allāh for those who say “Allāh is our Lord” then remain steadfast. 
    - The means of receiving aid from Allāh and those who receive this aid. 
    - The story of the Day of Uḥud regarding Allāh’s Aid and Promise. 
    - Being cautious regarding intentionally committing ḥarām and opposing the Sunnah.
    - Being mindful of Allāh and turning back to Him when we fall short.
    - The meaning of ‘al-Maʿiyyah al-Khāṣah’, who it is for and an example from the Sīrah of the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم). 
    - Leaving our affairs to Allāh and utilising the weapon of the believer.
    - The promise of the ākhirah. 
    - The meaning of ‘ziyādah’ in the verse, “For those who have done good is the best (reward, i.e. Paradise) and az-Ziyādah (even more).”

[04/04/2022] Five Qualities That Gain Paradise & Allāh's Mercy - By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khutbah at Masjid As-Salafi, Birmingham, UK.

⁃ Benefits from the āyāt:

۞ وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
۞ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَـٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
۞وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَـٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

{And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for al-Muttaqūn (the pious). Those who spend [in Allāh's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allāh loves al-Muḥsinūn (the good-doers). And those who, when they have committed Faḥishah (illegal sexual intercourse etc.) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allāh and ask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can forgive sins but Allāh - And do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know.} [Sūrah Āli ‘Imrān 3: 133-135]

⁃ Hastening and competing to carry out actions that necessitate the Mercy of Allāh.
⁃ Characteristics of the Muttaqīn:
1. Generosity.
2. Repression of their anger.
3. Pardoning the people.
4. When they fall into fāḥishah or wrong themselves they remember Allāh.
5. They refrain from the sin and are remorseful.
⁃ The two categories of Iḥsān.
⁃ The meaning of fuḥsh, and the difference between fāḥishah and wronging oneself.
⁃ The two meanings of “while they know”
⁃ The reward for those who possess these five attributes.

[14/02/2022] Words of Advice to the One Seeking Knowledge - By Abu Hakeem Bilāl Davis حفظه الله. Short words of advice, answering questions regarding seeking knowledge after the weekly Tafsir Ibn Kathir class.

Some points discussed during this advice:

⁃ That which the da’wah of the Prophet ﷺ was based upon and the importance of being familiar with the texts of the Book and the Sunnah.
⁃ The effectiveness of quoting the verses of the Book of Allāh upon the hearts.
⁃ Contemplating upon our ability to convey the legacy left by the Messenger ﷺ if the responsibility was solely on our shoulders.
⁃ The importance of equipping ourselves to be carriers of this legacy.

The level of importance that should be given to memorising.

⁃ Giving priority to memorising the small texts in ‘Aqīdah after the Book of Allāh and what one is able to memorise from the Sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ.
⁃ Being familiar with and beginning one’s da’wah with the fundamental texts such as Uṣūl ath-Thalāthah, Qawā’id al-Arba’a and ‘Aqīdatul-Wāsiṭiyyah.

Things that prevent a student from learning.

⁃ From the best of the books written on this topic: ‘Awā’iquṭ-Ṭalab of Shaykh ‘Abdus-Salām b. Barjis (رحمه الله).
⁃ From the things that may be present prior to him embarking upon studying:
⁃ 1. Characteristics such as kibr.
⁃ 2. Being deceived by Shaytān that one is too old and not able to memorise/study.
⁃ 3. Not having a sincere intention.
⁃ 4. Not being familiar with the methodology of studying.
⁃ 5. Pursuing the dunyā.

Jealousy among students of knowledge who are at a similar stage/level.

⁃ Constantly checking oneself and one’s ikhlāṣ.
⁃ If a person is badly affected by the progression of his companion, he must ask himself:
⁃ How is he in relation to his own sincerity in his seeking of knowledge?
⁃ How is he in relation to the statement of the Prophet ﷺ, “Love for your brother what you love for yourself”?
⁃ He should use that as a form of encouragement and put in more effort.
⁃ He should pay attention to the fact that the race is not for the swift but those who can endure.
