haven't posted in a while. i have to admit, i was thinking about quitting. but no, i can't run away from something i love. here's to all those out there struggling. hang in there, you'll be ok. God's got you.

why is every song about the brokenhearted

keep me from believing that same old lie

I was inspired by Romans chapter 7 for this tune. Paul says some startling things about the human heart there. What do we do when we love God and we still sin? Finally, he just says, "Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin."

This song is written with that posture. I still live in a broken world. Because of Adam's sin, I still have to fight the flesh every day. But the good news is that through the cross, I'm free from the guilt and the stain of sin. Jesus didn't only take my sin, but He gives me His righteousness, too. And when it feels like I'm stuck in the same old patterns of sin that have deceived people for so long, I can look to Him for strength and redemption.

So I hope you enjoy this song. Hope it's an encouragement to you today.

Yet, no matter what you've done, God's grace always abounds. In our repeated failures, there is forgiveness...so much that our sins are completely removed and forgotten by Christ. If you struggle with letting go of past mistakes, remember that every day, God is erasing YOUR history. Keep moving forward in His love, and don't look back!
