The frost line, in planetary science, refers to a particular distance from the sun. 
A radius in the solar nebula where it is cool enough for hydrogen compounds such as water to condense into solid ice grains. Depending on density, that temperature is estimated to be about 150 K. 
The frost line of the Solar System is around 748 million kilometers (465 million miles).
