Sameheads C60 Tape Collection Series

Amnesia '86: 
Straight, gay, bi-sexual, young, old, black, white, brown, trendy, hippie.. such a diverse mixture of people had never been seen under the same roof( or lack of roof rather). The common denominator that bound it all together- the music…as provided by DJ Alfredo Fiorito. 

Of course, in those days, and before the House Revolution took place, the soundtrack to any club was on the whole much more varied... On your average night, you’d be as likely to hear salsa as rock and roll, Bob Marley as Luccio, Madonna or Tears for Fears. One could describe it as a total Mumbo Jumbo, a mad medley of all that was, indeed, is, great music straining up and out of the club and into the sky above. Throughout those first two years the reputation of the club and its sound grew not only on the island but also internationally. 

Amnesia soon became the best after club in the world. The crowd grew weekly, transferring their socializing from Ku (now known as Privilege) to Amnesia to form an intrinsic part of never before witnessed scenes of wild and carefree fun in the sun- glasses on, dancing in the sunny open air terrace that became the legend we all know today. 

To celebrate this, the next Sameheads C60 tape cassette release will be a special, as yet unheard live Dj mix recorded at Amnesia during Alfredo's early years there. This will be available to buy at the door and the Sameheads shop thereafter.

This limited Psychedelic Meltdown cassette release is linked to an event series of the same name curated by The Slow Brown Fox, taking place at Sameheads in Berlin. As stated by its name, the series aims to mind-bend the audience through trippy and unexpected music, freely flowing between electronica and sounds from the beyond.

This first showcase presents a double mixtape released via Sameheads being the manifestation of the magic experienced on the inaugural night of January 6, 2024 featuring Loma Doom, Akvilina, Lizzie Urquhart and The Slow Brown Fox.

Osàre! Editions x Sameheads - C90 Special - Released in physical form a couple of months ago and long since gone appears courtesy of the long standing and musically alingned satelites of Osàre & Sameheads.

2 artists we both admire, and agreed are long overdue being asked for a 45 min concept mix.

Diamin & RRRKTRA belong together on this one. Acid tinged, industrial soundscapes, overlayed with gorgeous melancholic sonic droplets.

Amelia Holt and Benedikt Frey offering up a side each of some influences from the rap game.

Amelia says.
"I love hip hop. I have been digging a lot of it because I like the beats and it’s fun to blend with trip hop and downtempo tracks. I also work for a record collectors, who has an incredible hip hop collection and we spend a lot of time listening to all these records. Beyond the beats, rhythm & lyrics, hip hop has an important piece in the history of music and the city I live in. I am grateful it exists.

This mix was recorded in Texas, in my bed room early January during the holiday season."
