‘A Snowstorm in The Tropics’ is Timothy J. Fairplay’s first album since 2017’s ‘Where Is The Champion?’ and the first release on his new label Dungeon Module. Made up partly of tracks popular in Timothy’s recent streamed live performances, but which have never seen full release, and completely new unheard material. Like much of Timothy’s work, it is a mix of Electro, proto-Techno, wave-y Italo and Cosmic Music recorded using only hardware from his studio in a warehouse somewhere in North London. The title track ‘A Snowstorm in The Tropics’ meanders through snow fog Berlin School melodies pinned down by a huge Dub Techno kick. ‘Fish Island Emotion’ is like a lost 80’s Italian House classic. ‘Ecstasy Nausea’ features a return to the deep wrong sample-rate voice Timothy used on the infamous ’Cleopatra Loves The Acid’.

Feral Colony is a new imprint dedicated to direct improvised approaches and spontaneity using minimal equipment. The first release is from Chris Mitchell, known for his work on Vanguard Sound, Anunnaki Cartel, Sistrum, Frigio, and Sons of Traders. Here Chris delivers an EP of thick drums with saturated tones and samples. On "Triumph" Chris weaves Afro-Caribbean chants with a growling bassline and synth. Heavy drums and intricate rhythms bring it all together for a slow-tempo stomper.

The project is a showcase of his excavations into the realm of tribal-tinged techno and live experimentation. Using the sharp edges of a raw, tribalistic robot funk sound as tools for crafting rhythm, Black Seed generates unsettling yet grooving scenarios, basemental bangers of danger dunked in smoke and hypnosis.

Isla to Isla is a team of passionate music lovers and bunch of friends pushing the boundaries of clubbing culture. Since it’s start in 2017 Isla has proceeded a number of events (residencies at Lizdas club and Empty Brain Resort), art happenings and 2 small festivals. Now it’s even more scaled with a launch of label called Isla to Isla. For now, 2 tapes of Vladas Dieninis and Jūra Elena Šedytė have been released but the ambitions are on fire and there is a vivid aim to release much more quality music on different physical formats. For Electric Shapes Isla co-founders Hìldá & Patricia Kokett recorded an intense and colourfully dynamic mix, consisting of their  eclectic tastes and giving a glimpse into what’s happening during their b2b’s.

Sebastian Swarm is a Glasgow based DJ, musician, visual mutator and co-operator of Lunacy, a record label and warehouse party that operated out of an old sweetie factory. He holds residencies with Glasgow based radio station, Clyde Built Radio and Marseille station, Ola Radio with his show Dannsa Càball. 

Swarm has released music on a number of labels such as Land of Dance, Meta Moto, Apéritif de la Mort, Huntleys & Palmers and more recently a remix for post punk/psychedelic band, Abrasive Trees.

For his LAYER, Sebastian selected the funkiest of digs and nastiest of waves, mostly from the beloved last decades of the XX century.
