This is a recording of a mix I performed as a closing set when supporting Outrage in Brisbane a couple months ago. It's pretty dark, heavy and weird and for some reason I never released it so I figured halloween would be the perfect time for a mix like this. Please listen whilst practicing dark arts or committing murder.

Having barely brushed up against electronic music during his school years, Rhoe's first real taste came in 2008 at Eora's iconic Chinese Laundry. From that night on, weekends were spent deep in the pre-Skrillex dubstep era, where heavy basslines and raw energy lit the spark for what would grow into an unshakable passion.

That passion pushed him to dig wider - into UKG, breaks, and eventually drum and bass. Drum and bass came along early, but at first it didn't click. The dancefloor side felt flat to him, and he pushed it aside. In 2015 he was convinced to go see Noisia at Greenwood, and it flipped his whole perspective. 

Rhoe had already been teaching himself to mix on a pair of CDJ1000s since 2013, pushing through different genres like bass house, techno, UKG and dark prog, but nothing ever felt as natural or comfortable as drum and bass. His sound has been shaped by artists like QZB, En:vy, Alibi, Wingz, and Amoss, leaning into that deep, dark, techy corner of the spectrum.

He thrives on doubling tracks, weaving layers of basslines together to push energy higher without losing that stripped-back, underground edge.
