What a blessed night , after the rains,  in spring, we danced in mud in the famed field of Bucklands crossing, Otago under the tent that Thomas built… This was and Ana and Thomas production… what an amazing dance party, getting in before the covid-19 does in the south Island here in Aotearoa NZ…  I hve included a Jungle remix of 808 State's "pacific state" in honor ot band mate Andy barker who died this last week  true originators of the rave scene that led to Jungle BUT AND I dedicate this set to 'Neen, a patient and friend of mine who died this week. I am so proud of her and her Whanau (family).. some of these tunes are dedicated especially to 'Neen she will know as will her family ! A blessed Junglist /Rasta sister we will all miss deeply… I love you Janeen!  As do all that were privileged  to be related to and know u... I played my heart out for you on this one! some of my favorite all time tunes in this set! Rest peacefully sister <3... the artwork here is special... for those who know... much love ! Bristolian Drum & Bass pioneer Roni Size returns to his iconic imprint, Full Cycle Records with hi-octane, 5 track EP Vintage, due for release 3rd December 2021.
 
Kicking off the EP with ‘The Sky’, out 18th November, the uplifting and extravagant fast-paced D&B roller sets the scene for the full 5 track EP. Enigmatic and addictive, it’s a testament to Roni’s truly timeless sound. Second track ‘Now Is The Time’ takes things into moodier territory, with propulsive percussion and dystopian vocals giving way into a no holds barred rave ready workout. On the flip, euphoric number ’Yeah Ya Know’ is a stripped-back and addictive breakbeat cut - leaning into the old skool yet sounding fresher than ever. Harking back to the hardcore days, ‘Sweet Water’ channels early rave memories with shimmering synths interspersed with chunky, heavy hitting broken-beats. Rounding out the EP, ‘Sweet Water Vocal Dub’ is dreamy jungle at its best - let the soulful sugar sweet vocals and driving breaks take you higher.
