"I definitely draw part of my inspiration from architecture. The process of translating visual perceptions into sound excites me, especially when considering the acoustic characteristics of various spaces and structures. Likewise, music inspires me for my photography, enabling me to capture the visual essence of the sound and translate it to pictures. This forms a self-contained system where I actually aim to pair each track with a unique picture.  Musically I would describe the EP as quite experimental with dance floor focus.

But I think its better if you make your own impression!

Spanning a variety of tempos, this collection showcases Fixate’s love for house and techno, blending loop-driven beats with dancefloor energy.  In his own words, “I made these tracks to fit into my own DJ sets, bridging the gap between tempos when playing out."

In the quiet waters of a pond, tiny green spheres float each with a cluster of cells working together in perfect harmony. This is Volvox, a simple multicellular algae organism, nurturing new colonies in its heart, waiting to grow and flourish. Similarly, in the vibrant skateboarding and music scene of French-speaking Switzerland, a young producer named Dimosoundz emerged from within a tight-knit community. Like the Volvox, he absorbed the influences around him, growing his own creative voice from the heart of this dynamic environment. This premise, both visually and sonically representative, marks the release before you.

Dimosoundz is the creative force behind Dimitri Roulin, embodying his musical ethos by fusing personal influences into a rhythmic experience grounded in his passion for bass-heavy music. Although his background as a breakdancer served a subconscious basis towards his current signature style, his journey as a producer began with a unique academic project that merged skateboarding, electronic and sampled sounds. From being deeply rooted in the Romandy skate scene is where he discovered 90s jungle and related sister genres, drawing inspiration from the community’s emphasis on autonomy, support, and authenticity which cemented HTGSW. 

Much like his lifelong fascination with water and its mysterious underworld, Dimosoundz explores vast, unknown realms in his music through obscure samples and non-musical elements whilst infusing his work with a playful, exploratory spirit. For him, music, skateboarding and underwater exploration are paths of creativity and discovery—parallel journeys of digging beneath the surface to find something new. Though seemingly fresh out of the water but already making waves within the Helvetian scene, Dimosoundz brings an original perspective, blending his unique experiences into a sound distinctly his own.

PREMIERE: Dimosoundz - Thames Rythm [Dee Dee’s Picks]

How U Feel transposes a fresh sprouting of highly strung self-worth into four melodically vivid and hard-hitting jungle tracks. Through surging synth lines, rolling bass grooves, RnB vocal sampling and chrome-plated breaks, this EP is an ode to the powers of hyper-romanticism and melancholic devotion, and inward & outward emotional availability as their guiding force.

The EP begins with “Warm Wash”, kicking off with a steady dub reggae-inspired bassline groove, breakbeat-piano euphoria and a classic vocal sample. “Sacrificial” continues the dub influence with flutters of echoed vocal harmonies and acidic, airy synthesis. The title track takes the mood into a darker territory with a slow burner of retro-futuristic synthesis, dancehall-based breakbeat riddims, and a piercing vocal hook. “B4DB1DNESS (Vocal Mix)” brings forth an anthemic amen breaks dub of Tinashe’s “None of My Business”, prompting both tears and elation in the peak time. Closing out the EP is a remix of “Sacrificial” by Kultiv, which switches up the original mix with wobbling basslines and nocturnal junglist ambience.

“NightCover” is an entrancing descent into the calm and mystery of the nocturnal world — a track that envelops the listener like a velvet dusk. It’s the sound of twilight settling, of the world softening its edges as light fades, revealing what the day leaves unsaid.

From its first moments, “NightCover” establishes an atmosphere that is both intimate and expansive. A slow, pulsing rhythm anchors the piece, while shimmering synth tones and gentle ambient textures drift across the stereo field like passing clouds. Archer 23’s sound design here is impeccable — the interplay of shadow and light feels almost tactile, as though one could reach out and touch the air between notes.

Melodically, the song leans toward introspection. Its phrasing is deliberate and restrained, suggesting contemplation rather than confession. Subtle harmonic shifts evoke both safety and solitude — the feeling of finding comfort in isolation, or peace in the stillness of night. There’s an emotional quietude to “NightCover” that speaks volumes without ever raising its voice.

As the track unfolds, faint rhythmic accents and ambient echoes lend it a cinematic quality. It’s easy to imagine city lights flickering in the distance, or a lone traveler pausing under starlight — moments of reflection suspended in time.  “NightCover” is a beautifully crafted nocturne — moody, immersive, and emotionally resonant. Archer 23 captures the essence of night not as darkness, but as refuge — a place where the mind can wander and the heart can rest.
