Thanks goes to Laura Intravia for the wonderful flute performances done under very short notice. In fact, this whole track was done under short notice. In the space of just over two days, I spent over thirty hours on this track. So yep, basically non-stop work to get this done. I was disappointed that the aforementioned expansion album didn't have any Mario Galaxy music, and always wanted to arrange some of its music, so I decided to take on the crazy task of finishing this track in a couple of days. Didn't get much sleep, but it was WORTH IT.
I tried experimenting a little for this. It's basically an orchestral/chiptune mashup, with mostly orchestral supported by chiptune accompaniment/drums. Look forward to an entirely chiptune section later on though... it's my first time doing chiptune so I hope it's alright. This uses East/West Symphonic Orchestra Silver, Hollywood Brass Gold, Hollywood Strings Gold, Stormdrum 2, Omnisphere, Versilian Studios Marimba, mda ePiano, BiT BOX, Bleep, Magical 8-Bit, Sytrus, 3xOsc, and Vengeance. Also, those aren't the original Mario sound effects you're hearing in the background at some points. They're my own; hope I got them to sound like the real thing!
I worked very hard on this and consider it one of my best tracks to date. I hope you agree! Thanks for listening and comments would be much appreciated!

To The Stars

Uses Versilian Studio's Etherealwinds Harp (http://vis.versilstudios.net/etherealwinds-harp.html), All-Around Violin, Squidfont Orchestra's contrabass, and minimal processing. Hopefully not too alien-sounding - I noticed the harp had a very pure sound which allowed for some dissonant tones that would be terrible on other instruments. Something I'd probably have learned already if I could go to school for this.

"Backwards" Piano chords + flutes

This is a cover/restatement of the classic "Tubular Bells Finale" by Mike Oldfield, as re-imagined by Artly There. The announcements are done handily by my UK friend Andy Pritchard (who is also on SoundCloud). 

This interpretation differs from the original(s) to quite a degree because a) doing a note for note cover would be redundant (and folly) given the perfection of the original (also the 2003 variant), and b) I am not yet that talented. :) One change is that I have 7 intervals of instruments, and the original had 9. I have combined some instruments, and created whole new textures. Another version with ending guitar may be uploaded later, but for now, this does a respectful and lovely fade. This was inspired, also, in good part, by Fakebit Polytechnic's spiffy "Tubular Techno" variant of same. They made the impossible seem a little more do-able.

I was pleased to reprise my role as creator of the music for the second season of MAMMUT, the norwegian web-based crime-tale that can be watched here: https://www.glomdalen.no/mammut2---se-alle-episodene

The music included in this track, as well as a few more minutes included only in the actual web series, was made in approx. 5-6 days. I used samples from two free libraries, as well as some stuff included with Logic Pro 9, which was the software I used. Feel free to ask questions you might have.

Just a random thing for fun and practice.

The second to last nocturne that was published of Chopin is the first of which I have learned. Some give it the nickname 'Reminiscence', and although I don't like that title too much, it gives an idea of what the piece feels like.

I didn't hear any glaring mistakes, but I left some awkwardly loud notes in to give it a bit more authenticity, after all that's what makes this a human performance.

I used my Yamaha DGX-650 digital piano, to record the track on Reaper, and used the VST 'VSCO 2 Community Edition', licensed under a Creative Commons 0 license (i.e. no copyright applicable).

Chopin - Nocturne No. 20 in C-sharp minor (Op. posth)

we're off on an adventure! Here's an overture foreshadowing themes used in a game or film's story. I primarily used Versilian's Symphonic Chamber Orchestra 2 with a little of SONiVOX's Orchestral Companion instruments and Embertone's trumpet and friedlander violin.
