Selecting tunes for releases on Samurai Music is difficult as there is so many great tunes on offer. The absolute cream of what we get sent makes it to releases on vinyl, so resisting the temptation of digital only releases creates a backlog of high quality tunes. Outliers is a collection of music from the Samurai family of artists that were all in contention for vinyl release, but for one reason or another slipped through the cracks. Most of these are still in heavy rotation in many of our DJ sets, so rather than hogging them, we put together a collection for a Bandcamp only release. Most of these have never been played by more than a few select Samurai DJ’s and the producer themselves. Outliers shows the depth of talent these producers have with these sitting on their HD’s without a home. We don’t plan on moving into the digital only release field any time soon so maybe we can have this series as a semi regular substitute.

Our latest premiere is now online featuring a track titled 'Things We Don't Say' by French duo MOTH which is soon to be released on their 'Cold Brutality' EP on Amsterdam based label Tenebrism Records.

Embarking on a new departure to go further and further into obscure dark techno, the label recruited the duo who have been passionate about music since their childhood and who push a real desire to bring a melodic, catchy and atmospheric aspect to their productions; telling a story along the way.

This narrative splits in two: the first two tracks are positive, relaxing, like an old summer breeze. The second part is a completely different story: it's the storm in the club, the tempo is racing and the dancers with it. This is Tenebrism’ groove at its core and who better than LVTL on remix duties to give it, it's final touch.

Together with their newest EP Immorality, which will be released this June on Knekelhuis label, Zaliva-D brings traditional futurism and oriental mysticism.

Sick Step is a perfect example of ritualistic behaviour which this Chinese duo brings to their melodics combined together with sinister vocals. Shamanism and powerful percussions are at a threatening point in this track which is nearly the most powerful one of the entire ingenious release.

Immorality will be out on Knekelhuis 8th June.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track by Celldöd. “Aten Dig” comes off the new v/a compilation, Surviving in Europe (17-20), forthcoming on She Lost Kontrol. Following up on the label’s first Surviving In Europe compilation, the next installment contains works from 2017-2020 and represents 20 artists from across the continent. Today we present veteran Swedish producer Celldöd’s track which penetrates multiple genres and conveys a rough, rugged reality which only he can deliver.
