Written after escaping a bad relationship. For me, the most damaging thing about traumatic experiences are the believes formed about ourselves and the world as a result. These voices of trauma continue tormenting us long after the events have passed. The words “just let it go” sound so obvious, but finding the courage and path to let go can seem insurmountable. This song is for all broken spirits to help connect and give space to their inner voices and in doing so find some moments of peace.

This one started as a collaboration with Cosmic Keanu, but evolved to include my good friend Chris (cgmaness). Keanu gave me the baadass riddim, and Chris added the high vocals and the mix. I played bass, guitar, organ, and slide. I also sung the low melody. this was a true collaborative effort for one of my favorite Radiohead songs. We hope you enjoy it.

Lost in a Symphony

For a more dense rhythm section I needed agility on bass line so this time, instead of the double bass, I chose to use my old dear electric bass, an old Cort that's been with me since high school. I haven’t played it for a long time, it’s been fun, I think I will do it again soon.
About the picture: actually the place of the photo is not a station or an airport, it is part of a photographic work I made some years ago on the concept of non-place like the big malls. But a non-place is also, some way, an all-places, every places from which to leave or arrive...
The real truth is that I've always liked this photo, for the perspective plane and because it's full of lines with variety of lights and shadows... In short, I couldn't wait to find an excuse to use it :)

Hey… thanks for dropping by. This is a simple Blues song. Songs, such as this, happen when I find myself in a songwriting slump. Lack of inspiration and ideas exacerbate the situation, pushing me back to the Blues. I grumpily relent then wallah, a song. And what better Blues theme than relationships? Seems I mine that gold often, which maybe says more about me than I’d like to reveal. But who cares? It’s the Blues. Here, Winter will not let go. Bitter, unrelenting winds, near horizontal snowfall, and minus 18F tonight. I looked outside this morning and a rabbit was waiting by the front door for me to put some carrots out. All the birds were hunkered down in thick pines, except for some ravens scavenging the neighborhood. There were some high flying geese as well, that flew by. They always seem to panic in the frigid weather. It almost sounds like they’re honking… ‘let’s get outta here.’ I don’t blame them. The deer are more wary now for some reason, and I only see their frozen tracks and fresh tree/sapling rubbings. I wrapped a couple trees to protect them, buried others in snow, but left 4 where they had scraped the bark bare. I will probably have to cut those trees down, but will wait to see if they survive. After getting some garden carrots for the rabbit, I decided to shovel some snow and work on my ice beard. It was cold enough today that condensation from my breath froze on my beard. They have an ice beard competition here and post pics of the best ones. There are some maniacs who stay out in the cold to ‘grow’ solid ice beards, and a chance at winning. Some have icicles hanging off their chin. No cheating with pouring water on your beard. Just having snow blowing into your beard along with some condensation from breathing. I let my face thaw out, when I came inside. Later in the afternoon… I walked down the the mailbox in the wind and there were tiny little horizontal icicles on the latch. I had to walk around a semi truck, completely blocking the road. The truck driver tried to turn onto our street and got stuck in a deep snowdrift. A neighbor came down and pulled the semi out with his tractor. I watched for a bit, then headed home. So now I am glad I am inside. Take care, Mark

When the Music Ends (collab - Roy Roy)

I am driven to create music by my belief in its transformative and healing power, a method of expressing and processing what beauty and pain life may throw your way.
         
My songs are a collection of memories and emotions, an eclectic mix of sounds, influenced by my experience of the many cultures and countries (Indian subcontinent, Switzerland, Ukraine, Russia, Uzbekistan, USA and finally the UK) that I had the privilege of living in around the globe. 

Growing up all over the world was exciting and dynamic, however, it also left me feeling somewhat like an international nomad, with no distinct roots or clearly defined place to call home. Hence the name Sans Roots.  

As a child, I found great joy, comfort, and stability in music, however going into adulthood, university studies and the corporate career ladder took front and centre stage of my priorities, leaving the creative inner child stifled and forgotten. 

Now in parenthood I am reconnecting to this inner child, tapping into this creative outlet, and realizing that home doesn't have to be a physical or geographical location, it can be a place in the mind where everyone can find solace, peace, and a sense of fulfilment.   

As a dandelion puff takes flight in the wind, free from the cares of this world, its destination unknown, so too is our journey of the mind, hope you enjoy sharing it with me.
