Just right with the kick-off of this year´s summer season, Milk & Sugar start promoting their new single „Canto Del Pilón“ – a world music influenced summer track that stands out for his own. 

This new single is a cooperation with venezuelan singer María Marquéz, who is a great star in Spanish Speaking Middle- and South America since the late 60ies. „Canto Del Pilón“ is a black workers song about the colonial history of South America.

Remixes are coming from Berlin mastermind Taan Newjam, Italy's very own Simone Vitullo, Déepalma honcho Yves Murasca and chillout legend Afterlife.

"Baio destemperado" of Brazilian group Barbatuques was the soundtrack for a Nike spot with Ronaldinho, that came along with the soccer world cup 2006. The official DrumnBass-Bundesliga Champions of 2006 J-Cut (Advanced, Fokuz, Renegade, AJC) & Kolt Siewerts elaborated the faint footwork on this tune with massive Bass & Breaks and sent a very coveted and highly inofficial DrumnBass remix into the game. This racket kept scoring rewinds around the clubs as "Flautas Felizes" by Howie & Chance for quite a while causing some rumours: „Hey DJ, play that song with the flute!

Property rights have been officially cleared now with the Brazil publisher - thanks to MCD - and therefore Santorin is proud to release an official copy into your private record-lineup.

This remix of B. Dolan's "Leaving New York" is the 1st peek of an album-length remix project that Buddy Peace did of Dolan's "Fallen House, Sunken City" LP from 2010. In this song, Buddy lifts the original story of exodus and gives it a sweltering desert backdrop via some obscure psych-rock records. The nasty scratch outro serves as a clear warning:  Strange Famous is out for blood this year.    

This Spring feels especially notable for London's Buddy Peace though, as it looks like the shadowy button-pusher and his endless crates are gearing up for an impressive release schedule.  Last summer gave us HOUSE OF BEES VOL. 2, a mixtape collaboration with B. Congo Natty aka Rebel MC has a career dating back to his early hit with Double Trouble, "Street Tuff," but is probably most respected as one of the pioneers of Jungle - perhaps the first uniquely UK-born bass music. 

"Jungle Revolution" features the whole of the extended Congo Natty family and was mixed with Adrian Sherwood. Clearly showing this Rasta's belief that Jungle is a re-boot of roots reggae for a new century, the record is full of blood and fire, the sternum-buzz of sub-bass, rapid fire drum breaks, sweet hooks, righteous anger and professions of religious fervour. It’s the kind of passionate, committed, raw and spiritual, beautiful record that doesn’t come along every day.  

To celebrate this release, we are streaming the track "UK Allstars," which features a who's who of British soundsystem culture. This is the first time ever that this line up have all appeared on one track together and so also marks a historic coming together of a scene which lies at the roots of so much of what we now take for granted in UK music, from dubstep to grime to drum & bass and beyond.
