The quintessential Kryptic Minds & Leon Switch track - soothing vocals paired with hard hitting techy beats, the clash of heaven and hell. 

I don't know a lot about this tune, other than the fact that there is a John B remix of the original mix (never heard the original mix), which was slated to be released on the Lost All Faith album back in 2004 (it took another 3 years for it to be released in 2007 with many changes to the tracklisting, which included omitting any version of this track). 

Fascinating bit of trivia regarding the album; back in 2004, Si (Kryptic Minds) also mentioned that the title track of the album, Lost All Faith, was an 11 minute orchestral piece - the track got cut down to 9 minutes and 41 seconds.
Additionally, he mentioned two tracks titled 'Opus 1' and 'Opus 2'. There was 1 track which made it to the album called Opus Dei, which makes me wonder if there was another, similar orchestral piece made by them but didn't make the cut.

This version of the track was made around 2003/2004.

From New Zealand, Graysound came to us with this hybrid project, especially designed for his own sound system. This playlist will inevitably push subwoofers to their limits. Even tho the project is vocal intensive, the great balance between electronic and acoustic frequencies forges a distinctive sound. Each track is unique, backed by your classical reggae vibes and a flavour of darkness, it's your choice whether to shift to the other side. Strong bonds and collaborations arise for the creation of this piece, Natty Campbell, Rider Shafique, Wreckage, Dark Entity, SKG's Dub Alliance, Young Gho$t, L Nix and Rains all took part in this journey individually raising the bar higher which increased the potential of each artist in their own area of expertise. The combination of all these different styles denominated the "Champion Sound", a proposal we could never reject. An original blend pushing our sound above limits and across borders.

Marking DDD’s 150th release with aplomb, with his Smoke & Mirrors EP the producer showcases his uncanny ability to create complex sonic landscapes, textures and emotions, with a minimal and economical touch that stays true to the adage that less is more. 

Each beat, synth part and atmospheres is exquisitely selected, felt and impacted within the tune and creates a mood and vibe that is incredibly unique, fresh and yet feels classic.
