Lend you ears to Iselin Solheim - Back from the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts, and on the heels of the release of her well-received debut single “What’s Happening”, Iselin Solheim is firmly marking her place in the Scandinavian music scene with her newest single, “The Wizard of Us”, A-listet for 8 weeks on Norways biggest radio channel, NRK P1, and recieving great feedback internationally.

 

Iselin’s talent moved Sir Paul McCartney and his people to ask her to stay for 3 more years – but for Iselin, the music just couldn’t wait. 

 

Coming back to Norway, the Bisi Record label signed her immediately, followed by her debut last autumn with “What’s Happening”, a catchy tune that received wide airplay, and was picked as the “Song of the Week” for the national radio station Radio Norge.  This was just a sneak preview of what was to come for listeners and fans of this talented 22-year old.

 

“The Wizard of Us” features Erik Sollid from the Valkyrien All Stars on fiddle, as well as bassist Arvid Solvang from Maria Mena’s band, and Alex Bråthen on drums, a combination that gives the song a timeless flow that goes far beyond the standard format of modern pop music.

According to Bisi Record head Hilde Wahl, “The Wizard of Us is a 3-minute cosmic folk-pop journey to the center of Iselin’s musical universe, the product of her creative songwriting and unique style. This collaboration with producer Jesper Borgen is just the first of many songs they completed this past winter, so we look forward to a lot more from Iselin in 2013.”
