This album is a global effort to connect the different tribes and scenes around the world to come to a more openminded and sustainable human society.

The music was contributed by members of the Tribal Bass FB group;

and compiled and mastered by Hentopan aka dustrickx, a tribal bass promotor from Belgium.

For easter 2021 ( on 4/4 this year) we release this new compilation with the best in tribal bass music as a dedication to the group and the entire scene and a way to cross international boundaries and bring together the world in a year of reconnection.

Tribal Bass is a mixture of genres ranging from styles using idm-ish breakbeats and fusion trip-hop over ethnic instrumentals, global trap to psy-dub, experimental bass and glitch-hop. It is known as a danceable downtempo style for psy-heads and nu-school hippies and is usually plaid at chill out or second stage areas in European psychedelic festivals, but it also hits the main stages in US, AU, NZ and Can. RustOut Records has managed to bring someone out of the shadow and into the light. With his first official release, Kwizma has shown us a glimpse of his version of the deep side of dubstep. Starting underground with “Cave Drops”, the mood quickly darkens as the heavy bass hits you in the chest paired with the iconic sounds echoing through the dark. Moving to the surface into “The Forest”, the upbeat percussion stirs things around while the bass and heavy growls are always deep-rooted in the background. Crossing over to “Blizzard”, the fast paced cymbals and high hats set the scene as you wait for the incoming storm. As it ruthlessly hits you time and time again with bassy punches, you know this is a force to be reckoned with. Kwizma’s “The Forest EP” is an all round bass weighty story, showcasing his ability to create visual scenes with nothing but sound.

Mindspring Music presents: Slaycub - Visceral Planet [MSM102]

Slaycub's new EP with four tracks that have been in the making for well over a year; a year spent revisiting, reviving, and reinvigorating them with much love and care. These are some of his most emotional works, focusing more on the flow of tension and release rather than on technicality or pure experimentation.
The word “visceral” references deep emotion and intuition, in contrast to logic or reason. Placed next to “planet” in the title of this work, it exemplifies our Earth’s tendency to act intuitively and express its innermost fire. Its creatures are driven by instinct and are fueled by palpable, deep-rooted feeling.

~ The dream state is a part of consciousness in which we can experience emotion, often without limitations imposed by logic. “Dewdrop” is a nod to a song by Cocteau Twins, whose music reverberates through the depths of my own dreams, and whose ethereal influence is felt subtly throughout this body of work. Likewise, we are able to manifest these dreams into waking life and orchestrate our own soundtrack.

~ The title track is a convergence of our planet’s elemental emotions: its nurturing soil, mournful winds, cleansing rain, and eruptions of fire. It lives through these with vehemence, and vulnerability; both polarities are expressed in this track.

~ Our reality is built upon the fundamental fabric of space-time, which itself is not concrete, but flows, warps, and wobbles in a dance with the masses of our Universe. Earth’s mere existence creates a distortion in the geometry of this fabric.

~ Our planet rides along the grooves of the sun’s distortions. Sunlight begets all life on our planet, and is our source of light and warmth. This final track encapsulates the sparkling radiance of our star and the way its heat blankets us, and how it creates an impression on us both physically and emotionally.
