I've been thinking about these songs for the past few days now. It's cool how they were made during a time where we didn't have Origins, AIR, or the November 1993 prototype. I thought the way the songs were composed were kinda cute lol. So I decided to use this practice round to get better at swing, as well as see what these songs would sound like if they had a bit more polish to them.

I wanted to keep the spirit of the spng alive, but also make a few tweaks and additions wherever possible. I hope I did a good job!

Sonic 3 Complete - Carnival Night Zone Act 1 (FM Makeover/Snowball Mix)


Childhood in 7/8 time: Istanbul Before Twelve smells of simit and the sea; it sounds like ferry horns, spoon percussion, and merchants’ cries. Makam melodies meet nu-jazz soul—warm, handcrafted, alive.



This is my first map of Istanbul—from the courtyard to the ferry, from the tea garden to the Grand Bazaar. You’ll hear makam colors, microtones, and aksak grooves in 7/8 and 9/8; saz, oud, kanun, ney, kaval, zurna, darbuka, and davul telling how the city sounded to me before I turned twelve.
Each track is a scene: our block, the neighbor, Teacher Veli (stern and kind), friendship and hospitality, the green valleys, the Bosphorus, the nights, the tea garden, and the journey forward. Between seagulls and ferry horns, nu-jazz and soul blend with a hint of djent—honest, warm, handcrafted.

This is my take at “Do it for Him/Her” from Steven Universe in a Uematsu-esque battle theme.  This was also the first planned art/music collab with Kevin Creel.  We had this in mind for our first collab to both 'test the waters' and for a signal boost.

Hello! My name’s KCVisualD, and I am a legally blind Visual Development Artist and Digital Illustrator. Due to a rare eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa, I am no longer capable of maintaining a studio pipeline; however--albeit very slowly--I still very actively pursue my own artistic endeavors. 

Pieces of Eight and I started work on this project sometime ago, and finding the time to collaborate our efforts was quite a challenge; however, despite all the hurdles, we feel that our mutual love for both creative mediums (animation/music) really came through in this piece. Do it For Her/Him (Art by Kevin Creel)

So I got a little bored this weekend and decided to do a small thing. That small thing turned into making an S3&K mix of the Sonic Mania invincibility music.

I've done something similar before with Sonic 4's invincibility music, a veeeery long time ago now, but I never put that on here. Did a Sonic 3D mix of that one too, maybe I'll do the same with this at some point.

This is also playing off of an emulator, not through VSTs in something like FL Studio. While I mock up a track in there (and I did for this one) this is playing in-game, in-engine.
