Classical PopRocks Part 2 (work in progress)

Estos últimos meses he intentado ocuparme lo más posible, incluso mis ratos libres, para así no tener tiempo ni de deprimirme con recuerdos o irremediables malas decisiones.

Y una de esas distracciones que me ha entretenido mucho y alejado de pasar malos ratos últimamente, es sin duda alguna el TERA Online. Creo que desde Lineage II ningún juego online me atrapaba tanto, y una de las cosas que más me gustan sobre TERA, además de sus razas, su historia, la forma de juego y sus excelentes gráficos, ¡Es la música! Compuesta por Bluehole Studios, mezclando épicas tonadas orquestales inspiradas en la música folclórica nórdica e inglesa, obras con violines y claras influencias celtas que en definitiva merecen un soundtrack oficial y que lamentablemente nunca ha salido a la venta.

Lo que, [como siempre] me lleva a tomar la iniciativa de querer conseguir capturar, limpiar y remasterizar estas hermosas piezas instrumentales una a una, y aunque ya varios lo han hecho en youtube, desactivando los sonidos del juego y grabando la música de fondo, yo lo quise hacer por canales, realzando y ecualizando cada instrumento individualmente, para conseguir así un sonido insuperáblemente nítido, de calidad estereofónica y 320kbps, ideal para disfrutar con auriculares X3

Y decidí comenzar por el tema principal usado para la selección del personaje en la pantalla de inicio y también en la maravillosa ciudad “Velika” capital de los humanos y base de operaciones de la federación Valkyon, pues su tonada triunfal "te purifica el alma”, e inspira muchísma emoción, es todo un himno para escuchar cada vez qué se entra en este maravilloso mundo~

Con la reciente noticia publicada hace un par de días en "Geek Comic Forum Guatemala", donde se confirmaba la posible realización de una película basada en Beast Wars [Guerra de bestias Transformers] decidí retomar este antiguo y nostálgico proyecto que ya tenía en el abandono desde hace años DX y que varias personas me habían solicitado con anterioridad, consistiendo, como ya es costumbre, en limpiar y remasterizar su entrañable tema de apertura. Ya que Guerra de bestias nunca contó con una banda sonora oficial comercial, por lo que me tocó rippear la música directamente del DVD, e intentar realzarlo manualmente [así como hice con el de ThunderCats y SilverHawks] 

Lamentablemente el audio no me ofreció ninguna facilidad para la edición en multicanales, la pista es sólo una y ya tiene fundidos todos los efectos de sonido, por lo que no me fue posible remover los rayos, explosiones rugidos y demás… Aunque finalmente creo que eso le da cierto encanto también X3

Igualmente hice lo conveniente para restaurar la música, enfatizando la instrumentalización; aunque reconozco que no equivale a la calidad de mis demás trabajos de restauración, creo que los más nostálgicos sabrán apreciarlo bastante~

I'm not a club DJ, I assemble playlists for GAMERS (DnD, LARPs, etc) which require a flow that is different than club playlists, with NO talking, no ads, and last 12 to 48 hours non-stop. ok, I've been hounded for a few years now to do playlists for Country and Rap. When it comes to both of those genre's I'm EXTREMELY picky. I'm old school country, meaning much of what is considered country today ISN'T. In the 70s Country Western radio stations added Honky Tonk and Rock-a-Billy to playlists to stay relevant. And if they didn't they were going out of business fffffaaaaast! IMHO that's Country Crossover, but still Country...barely. In the 90s they expanded again to include Southern Rock and Bluegrass Rock. I remember when those stations to refused to play Eagles records because "they're too much Rock. If they replaced electric guitars with slides, we might consider playing them in future." No shit, the largest chain of Country stations owner said that to Billboard in 1972. Then those same asshats sons added them in 1993 after both their fathers died. 2 years after that, they were admitted to the CM Awards and CM Hall of Fame. HYPOCRITES!!! Do your homework kiddies and be careful who you endorse with your hard earned money.

As for Rap, it's a mixed bag of reasons. 1st is I'm a classically trained musician, (violin and operatic voice, rhythm percutionist.) By definition a song is a melody divided into intro+verse+chorus+bridge+ rinse and repeat until closing. Also music is defined as original content played on instruments by musicians (the voice is technically defined as an instrament.) So by definition Rap is organized noise, not music. Don't yell at me, thats what's in every music theory textbook from the beginning of the printed word. So it took a long while for me to overcome that narrow minded brainwashing. It was MTV that opened my mind and musical horizons to Rap as music. And as such turns out I'm pretty picky about it. If it's disrespectful to women, racist, or glamorizes criminals and criminal behavior, I won't have anything to do with it. But it it has something thought provoking or original to say, or unique in perspective, I'm all ears. To give you an example of what I use as a measuring stick, if it doesn't hold up to the standard of Grandmaster Flash, Gorillaz and Digable Planets. If not, then it will be switched or turned off in first 30 seconds or less.
