Armen Miran & Hraach - Aldebaran (Shamsa ft Chamma Edit)

A cultural piece that was performed live as an opening act at the Musikarama as part of the Karama Human Rights Film Festival in its 8th edition in Amman, Jordan on the 8th of December, 2017.

There are very few words I have to describe this 30 minute piece. It was completely improvised. Me and my fellow friend and artist, the great Farah Chamma have never met or practiced before this time in real life but have been virtually very connected. This was one of the most emotional performances we ever took part in. I leave the rest to you.

This track was made using Ableton software. I used two ready-made tracks; one is from Palestinian researcher-musician and vocalist Sanaa Moussa, the other is from Palestinian Jerusalemite rebellious poet Fawzi Al-Bakri.
Zajal in Arabic is oral poetry declaimed/recited in colloquial language. Zajaliyyeh is one poem of this kind.
