The Independent Label Index is a constantly growing online archive of electronic music labels, which was created by Patrick Wendtland's master's thesis and in cooperation with Callshop Radio. The chronological overview shows the location-dependent and musical diversity of house and techno music and its historical development within Germany. Since the 1950s, numerous musical styles have had their origins in independent labels, especially in the many genres of electronic music.   Many of these labels do their valuable work away from the media spotlight and in the underground. In order to give these labels more visibility, an index of these independent labels has been created in the form of a website. It shows the chronological development of house and techno in Germany and also lists some of the most important information about the record labels. A project that is to be completed with the support of the community.   In order to show the importance of independent labels for musical diversity, interviews were also conducted with protagonists of house and techno culture about some of them. These interviews are part of the index and contain additional information about the labels and their influence on the development of electronic music.

Having been releasing music on vinyl and digital with various international labels over the last decade, Zharan is one of those artists you should keep on your radar.
