Hailing from Manchester with Colombian heritage, Florentino redefines Latin club music by fusing Reggaeton, Cumbia, Dembow, and more with the raw energy of UK Sound System culture. His sound is wild, sensual, and irresistibly danceable.

With releases on XL Recordings, NAAFI, and collaborations with Bad Gyal, Shygirl, and Isabella Lovestory, he has helped bring Latin club heat to global dance floors. His sonic palette extends beyond Latin beats, incorporating Dubstep, Techno, House, UK Funky, and Grime, showcasing his versatility.

FEDRA es una artista multidisciplinar, DJ y productora de Buenos Aires y Colombia afincada en Nueva York. Sus sets combinan un amplio espectro de ritmos y sonidos que honran su herencia multicultural, mezclando percusiones latinoamericanas con música del sur global y su diáspora. La intención de sus producciones y DJ sets es difuminar las barreras entre géneros, honrar la diversidad y fomentar la comunidad a través del movimiento.

FEDRA is a multidisciplinary artist, DJ, and producer from Buenos Aires and Colombia, now based in New York. Her sets weave together a rich spectrum of rhythms and sounds that celebrate her multicultural roots, blending Latin American percussion with music from the Global South and its diaspora. This week on Select, we have Brenda all the way from Colombia. Throughout the past three years, he has galloped through various  sonic territories within the global electronic music scene, establishing himself as a figure that is hard to define and one of the most innovative DJs in the globe. In his selection and mixing style, Brenda embraces the idea of ‘plunder-techno’, a collage of traditional Latin rhythms, encompassing dembow, cumbia, djembe and guaracha,  interspersed with variations of bass music, while incorporating noise textures close to IDM and club music.

For his select set, the Colombia native DJ and producer brings a mix that encapsulates his passion for the multiplicity of latitudes within the global south and its diaspora. He meshes together threads of Mexican tribal, Colombian bailoteo and Andean techno with the emancipated UK bass scene across the globe, playing on the similarities between Latin dembow and the new waves of electronic music from the Middle East region. “It’s an x-ray of my interests, specifically, my fascination with traditional percussion and how they can be employed in electronic music.” Brenda tells SceneNoise.

This week on Select, we welcome YoungWoman, an Amsterdam-based Egyptian DJ, producer, and co-founder of Los Angles Collective. Known for her genre-smashing sets and innovative mixing style, YoungWoman has been turning heads on the global stage, performing at some of the world’s top festivals, including Rewire.

Playful, energetic and surprising, her Select set is a percussive bass-driven rollercoaster ride into the left-field electronic spectrum, featuring explosive rhythms, scratchy noise textures, and a selection of eclectic tunes by some of the region’s top artists such as Zuli and Shabjdeed.
