Six years since the last chapter of everyone's favorite Scumfrog mix series, it is finally time to introduce volume 6 of Friends With Boats! The series that was inspired by a sailing trip in 2007, and slowly navigated the ever changing sounds of Electronic sunsets, continues with a carefully selected bag of tunes that were released at any point during the past 6 years, and deemed worthy for this mix. As with the other volumes in the series, Friends With Boats is best enjoyed as the sun sets, out in the open, with libations and friends, ideally on the open water. A year later, the saga continues with another podcast bleeding emotions, for You and your listening pleasure. 
Despite being a relatively short mix, the track selection required a lot of thinking, just like the previous piece I delivered to XLR8R. This one is yet again inspired by the roller coaster of emotions I went through last year, as well as my worldwide travels, and the sadness I feel whilst facing the countless political issues and terrorist attacks that take place all around the globe.

All Day I Dream Podcast 004: YokoO - All Day I Dream Of Peace

I'm happy to finally release my first extended set with you, recorded at StereoBar in Montreal. StereoBar is a club that's quickly jumped onto my shortlist of favorite venues in the world. Beyond the nailing the club fundamentals (sound system, layout, lighting, staff), they feature the "All Night" series where one DJ plays as opener, headliner, and closer. I love this format since it gives me the opportunity to build the energy from scratch and take the night in any direction without constraints.

But more importantly, I get to play for one of the most enthusiastic, supportive crowds that I've ever encountered. The energy from this night was the strongest I've felt in quite some time, certainly my best gig of the last year. Almost everything I threw out there worked, which actually makes me think that I might not have worked hard enough. There are many more sonic landscapes I'd love to explore, so hopefully I can come back again soon and we can take another journey in that special room...

Today we welcome a true storyteller behind the Schirmchendrink counter: DERSU honors Schirmchendrink with his sensational cocktail named “Between the Sheets”!

It was many months back when we got in contact and first listened one of DERSU’s sets. This one was called Africa. As fans of beautifully crafted DJ mixes it was clear that we wanted him on the show.  

DERSU is a creative mastermind telling stories trough film, animation, design, and music. His career led him from sports apparel design to art, film and music. He discovered his passion for the latter as creator of Witness This, an art and culture magazine. 

His most recent projects include NightCause, a monthly dance party on the West side of L.A. where 100% of the proceeds are donated to charity, and, Wish You Were Here, a daytime party series in Venice Beach. He also is one half of the duo Peace in Noise.

Between the Sheets covers many emotions and moods, it's deep and taps into a more industrial and minimal berlin sound, with touches of spiritual and also very heart filling anthems near the end. 

You can literally tap into the emotions as it’s reflecting DERSU’s personal journey as of lately: challenging, scary, dark while also being incredibly beautiful, expansive and light.
