Our 'Good Morning from ...' Guest Mix series will explore different artists from all around the world as they take us on a journey with their distinct and unique sounds that they'll showcase to represent their taste, surroundings and upbringing.

Today, we’re back in the UK for an early morning story from a duo whose storytelling capabilities have seen them travel far and wide, and today they’ve spoilt us with a gorgeous two and a half hour tale; sit down with us alongside @deathonthebalcony

Kora is the musical project of Mikael B Robillard, a planet Earth citizen with his family tree rooted in Québec, Canada. From childhood tunes with Grandma to co-founding the Saisons Musique label & collective, Mikael's journey is a testament to music's power to unite. With extended DJ sets at his Stereo Montréal residency and performances on global stages in many corners of our beautiful planet, Kora's sound is a tale of passion and purpose.

Canopy Sounds presents a spooky Halloween extended special from the dynamic duo, Death On The Balcony.

The combined forces of Mark Caramelli & Paul Hargreaves have built up an extensive catalog over the past ten years.  Their style fuses a range of influences from Disco, classic Deep House, as well as minimal and deep techno. With such a variety of tunes under their belt, they have a unique ability to concoct unique and enticing vibes to a myriad of settings and atmospheres for dancers all around the globe.  DOTB have become known as masters of the art of the remix, as they have been able to apply their delicate and rhythmic touch to all sorts of different genres and artists, most recently to Black Sabbath's, "Planet Caravan" - which was just released as a free download.  

Death on the Balcony’s release schedule is continually active with them releasing & remixing internationally with the likes of All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Kindisch, Akbal Music, Connaisseur, Suol, and Pets & Exploited.

The pair have been in the kitchen, cooking up some sonic flavors that should be reaching your ears this coming December, 2018.

Canopy Sounds 25: Death On The Balcony

We’re continuing our British Airways special in collaboration with Deeper Sounds and are happy to welcome the next gifted storyteller to the Schirmchendrink team:

Milo Häfliger, Swiss, originally from Solothurn, a small town located in the north-western part of Switzerland on the foot of the Jura mountains, is known for his sophisticated selections. 

Not in his wildest dreams Milo imagined he’ll be travelling the world to play dj sets when he recorded his first ever mix. But, since it is that easy to fall for his mixes and to connect with the emotions transported through them, his success does not come as a surprise! 

Today, Milo is a goosebumps guarantee in the ethnic and melodic electronica scene. He hosts his own event series Marché des Miracles in Zurich, Switzerland’s electronic music hot spot, is resident of the Heal Play Love collective and plays at the most renowned venues and events such as the Swiss premiere of The Gardens of Babylon in Basel next month – just to mention a few of his current engagements.

And, I’m sure that everyone who met him in person will agree: Milo is just a completely down-to-earth and incredibly likeable human being!

Milo Häfliger | Schirmchendrink & Deeper Sounds | British Airways Inflight Radio Show

The fourth and last episode of the exclusive Schirmchendrink guest show on British Airways' Inflight Entertainment in collaboration with Deeper Sounds is brought to you by Gimérique, a duo consisting of Belgium based Bigasti and Switzerland's Floloco.

The duo that founded this channel a few years back focuses today on their musical collaboration Gimérique.

Their debut on Schirmchendrink named Carribbean Cask received an enormous feedback on SoundCloud - no surprise they decided to pursue this mission further. 

Gimérique stands for storytelling and a bit of a mistery - especially since it got a little quiet around them over the last months. However, the silence is ends this year and they are back with a promising outlook. 

Without giving away a well kept secret today we are certainly happy to announce that wonderful suprises are coming up from the two electronic music enthusiasts!

Wow, what a day! Looks like summer finally got here! And we have the perfect refresher for you during these hot summer days:

KIDSØ, an electronica duo based in Munich (Germany), made a delicious chill pill named Blue Mountain. 

KIDSØ is one of these discoveries we made while scrolling through the endless streams in the cloud of sounds. It was their track named “Apart” that draw our interest, and we are extremely happy that this gem is also part of this mix.

The Blue Mountain is a recording of KIDSØ ‘s performance at Munich’s Bahnwärter Thiel, where they had a concert just recently. The duo does only live performances with quite an impressive setting: hundreds of cables laying all over the set to connect analog instruments with effect-racks and digital equipment. This is how they create their signature sound based on organic sound samples and live instruments. 

It started all back in the 90s, when Moritz was tweaking electronic sounds on his AMIGA and Martin was experimenting with computer programming. 

Since the beginning, the drums are the heart of their productions with the melodies following. Both play the drums, Moritz is coming from the Hip Hop and Funk scene while Martin has a background in rock and metal music. 

The result, it might suprise you, is completely different: smooth, emotional and insanely delicious. To put it in their own words: KIDSØ ‘s music represents the place in between, remote from the usual and ordinary, the real word and the imagination, dream and reality.

We absolutely love it – and we are proud to feature two unreleased premieres of KIDSØ in their delicious Blue Mountain (track list to follow later)! Thank you guys!

Blue Mountain | KIDSØ (Live)

We’re excited to welcome a bartender from Beirut, Lebanon, to the Schirmchendrink family: LØC, standing for “Line or Circle”, created a fantastic “Resolution” cocktail containing lots of Gin,  his favorite spirit! We’re following the path of this promising talent for a while now and kick start this weekend with his brand-new journey, exclusively on Schirmchendrink.

LØC’s musical genre reflects his eclectic influence: from high-modernist integral serialism to jazz-funk fusion to Armenian poetry to oriental – all distilled down to pure, crystalline minimal techno. As well as Disco, Slow House, Ketapop , Deep House… you name it! LØC is a sonic storyteller that catches you from the beginning!

When it comes to groovy dream house, the last years have seen many new talents. LØC belongs to this generation of new producers that rose up from the underground and enjoy the support of todays who is who across global DJ booths. 

His’s first releases have been brought to us by Nie Wieder Schlafen and Sag & Tre, both newly established but already key players in this popular niche of electronic music. 

Most recently LØC created “Living Room Sessions”, a concept to get intimate with producers during their live performances. LØC is a sound explorer, a frequency designer and noise maker. 

Now and then he also honors dance floors outside of Beirut with his music. And there is a rumor that LØC is playing in the City of Lights  - dans la “Ville Lumière” – this Saturday!

Thank you to our partners at Electronic Groove for the article about our tour with Death on the Balcony from All Day I Dream!  We had our launch party for the South American tour  in Brooklyn at The Williamsburg Hotel with local artists Eric Carson (Bespoke Musik), Daniel Cowel (ZERO), Rick Rosa,  Jeremy Sisselman (LIVE) + Andres Kintero (ebb + flow) and friends! During our tour of Chile, we had events in 8 cities during 10 days, including a grand finale with Piknic Electronik in Santiago. 

Our last event on the tour is coming up this Saturday night, March 7 in Miami :  Death on the Balcony / Do Not Sit On The Furniture

What should you do throughout your life? Many people think a tree, a house and a child will suffice, others compile never-ending bucket lists involving everything from high dives into water to eating scorpions and a bunch of other crazy stuff. A third group work their asses off to earn as much money as possible and end up dying without enjoying their money, some others make a conscious decision to not spend their money for their children to enjoy it later, while a different group of people choose not to have kids at all. And then there’s those who just want to travel all the time, discover new worlds, meet new people, try new foods, and never plan anything. Today, however, the latter are unable to do what they do best and are instead traveling inwards, exploring themselves and their surroundings, hoping that something good will come out of that too. So no matter how fatal we might perceive the title @timgreen has come up with for his set – "Last Train Home” – it can also be viewed as the beginning of something else.
