Chillean Mixes

For the 3rd year running, here's a mix I did for my friends down at Electronic Groove. Similar to my 2013 effort, this mix takes you from melodic point A to B with heavy hints of prog. Hope you like it!

Nordic Voyage 200!!! - 10/02/2023 - Powel / Kora - Proton Radio

I was given the opportunity to curate the lineup for our Preservation Society art car, Lucy S Cargo, last year at Burning Man. I brought my friends @oba-flip and @nodestinationmusic onboard, and we soundtracked a wonderful sunrise and morning on Playa. Here is my set from that day on my favourite snail :)

The duo gained our attention with their warm-up sets at Do Not Sit On The Furniture, creating the perfect vibe for big name headliners to take over. 

What they created for Schirmchendrink is pure bliss, not to be topped in terms of smoothness and positive emotions. Indeed a perfect track selection!

We are back with another tasty creation! Sam Goku performed some magic with the shakers and brought you a deliciously sonic and colorful Blue Lagoon. 
 
Sam Goku is a producer and DJ based in Munich. His music is referred to as balanced, wholesome, and colorful – perfectly fitting our menu! As a proud member of the Oleeva Records family, multiple remixes and an EP will be released on the young label and art collective in 2017. The original track Kami is out now on Sweet Melodic records.

We’re back with a new addition to the Schirmchendrink menu: a spicy Red Snapper, brought to you by Brussel’s electronic music artist Felix Cage. 

Born in Paris, Felix grew up in Moscow. Classical music, Russian pop rock of the early 90’s as well as the echoes of the European house scene form his musical background. It is later in Belgium that Felix fully embracing the electronic music movement, leading to DJing and releases and remixes on imprints such as Katermukke, Electronical Reads and Mobilee. 

Felix’s music already created waves around the globe and just recently clouds of dust at Belgium’s Desert Festival called No Man’s World. 

Thanks, Felix, for taking time to mix this delicious cocktail!

Did you know that the Negroni is the strong version of the Americano? Seems that a Mr. Negroni once asked the bartender in Florence, Italy, to spice up his favorite drink. The result was the strong aperitif without any mixers, as the bartender upgraded tonic water to gin. Quite a wise move we think! 

The Negroni is David Hohme’s favorite cocktail. David does not only like strong stuff, the New York based DJ, producer and @wheretheheartis label founder also delivers it.  

If you have experienced NYC nightlife the chances are high you came across the name David Hohme. His near decade residency in the thriving underground music scene has built him a reputation for bringing dance floors to life. 

Hohme's unique and unforgettable sound continues to receive rave reviews at the annual Burning Man gathering, where he's played for years. The phenomenal Bubbles and Bass set of this years gathering in the dust is probably still buzzing your ears.

David released his debut single "Fear Less" on his own imprint in 2016, which caught the ear of Anjunadeep heavyweight Jody Wisternoff. It’s only logical David released his following Soft Landing EP on Anjunadeep in 2017. And there is more to come, soon…

A mischievous twilight loomed above the rolling hillside, signaling the day's end for some.. For the wicked and the weird - a debaucherous tale had yet to unfold...

Canopy Sounds presents a spooky Halloween extended special from the dynamic duo, Death On The Balcony.

The combined forces of Mark Caramelli & Paul Hargreaves have built up an extensive catalog over the past ten years.  Their style fuses a range of influences from Disco, classic Deep House, as well as minimal and deep techno. With such a variety of tunes under their belt, they have a unique ability to concoct unique and enticing vibes to a myriad of settings and atmospheres for dancers all around the globe.  DOTB have become known as masters of the art of the remix, as they have been able to apply their delicate and rhythmic touch to all sorts of different genres and artists, most recently to Black Sabbath's, "Planet Caravan" - which was just released as a free download.  

Death on the Balcony’s release schedule is continually active with them releasing & remixing internationally with the likes of All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Kindisch, Akbal Music, Connaisseur, Suol, and Pets & Exploited.

The pair have been in the kitchen, cooking up some sonic flavors that should be reaching your ears this coming December, 2018.

Canopy Sounds 25: Death On The Balcony

Today’s cocktail got lots of Scandinavian spirit! Danish electronica newcomers BYLJA, consisting of Marchel Mørk & Emil Aagaard, is presenting the Scandinavian version of the Moscow Mule, the “Nordic Mule”.

BYLJA is one of those acts we stumbled upon while browsing through the endless stream in the cloud of sounds. The project has just debuted in Denmark and is not yet one year old. Marchel and Emil have released one track as of today, this gem is called “LAKI”. It was love at first sight. Or, better, at first hear. The track transports such an incredible atmosphere of melancholic, ambient but at the same time uplifting melodies. It was clear we wanted BYLJA on board and we are super happy they mixed their first mixtape for Schirmchendrink!

Marchel Emil share an enthusiastic passion for electro-acoustic ambient house music, which they give a personal and Nordic touch through BYLJA. With musical inspiration from artists such as Kiasmos, Bonobo and Moderate, BYLJA moves in a world of melancholy, well thought compositions and magnificent sound surfaces. At the same time, BYLJA's sound universe has deep roots in the house music, from which
they include rich bass and distinctive drums.

BYLJA's sound is characterized by a natural fusion of the digital and the analogue. Both computers and analog synthesizers, acoustic piano, guitar and bass form the frame of the duo's organic sound.

Their Nordic Mule contains fantastic unreleased productions of the duo. Can you guess where they are hidden? We are so much looking forward for those pearls to be released…and more coming from BYLJA soon!

What should you do throughout your life? Many people think a tree, a house and a child will suffice, others compile never-ending bucket lists involving everything from high dives into water to eating scorpions and a bunch of other crazy stuff. A third group work their asses off to earn as much money as possible and end up dying without enjoying their money, some others make a conscious decision to not spend their money for their children to enjoy it later, while a different group of people choose not to have kids at all. And then there’s those who just want to travel all the time, discover new worlds, meet new people, try new foods, and never plan anything. Today, however, the latter are unable to do what they do best and are instead traveling inwards, exploring themselves and their surroundings, hoping that something good will come out of that too. So no matter how fatal we might perceive the title @timgreen has come up with for his set – "Last Train Home” – it can also be viewed as the beginning of something else.
