Artist Info:
Niki is a Vancouver-based DJ, musician and the host of the monthly podcast series 'Allure' on Frisky Radio. Within a very short time, she has put herself on the map as an up and coming DJ. From raiding her parents’ record collection when she was just a child, to becoming resident at Vancouver’s MIA, Niki has continuously been living with the music in the forefront. Niki conveys her expression of life to listeners and engages crowds through her live sets when she’s behind the decks, and through dozens of podcasts and studio mixes. 
Her sets have been described as musical journeys, charming listeners and at the same time inviting them to dive into their own individual world of sensations. 
 Niki has recently started the Deep House Vancouver channel in hopes of introducing artists, DJs and quality underground house music to its audience from all around the globe. 
DHV is currently a channel showcasing 2-3 DJs and musicians per month through carefully crafted mixes. With her collectivist approach to music, Niki hopes to develop opportunities and expand it into a broader community which engages and unifies its listeners through the various sounds it explores.

We have the honor to present you Fulltone. One of our new members of the family, who created a groovy and inspired "Interpretation" of PHCK's "Cecilia", a remix included in our latest release "Natu" EP, which is finally available today! To celebrate this first collaboration with our egyptian friend, we asked him to show us his favourite music at the moment, in the form of a short & sweet mix for our series. Elfenberg is part of the Stil vor Talent family. Incredible musicians to hear but also to be around. As the crisis took them away from us for hopefully only a little while, we are MORE than happy to step into their world online..

-What inspired you to start making music in your beginnings as a music producer or dj

I love the way people from different backgrounds, countries and cultures can connect through electronic music.  Also, I love new technologies so the first time I heard electronic sounds it make feel in the future.  As a producer I was inspired by the challenge to be able to put together sounds that would help me tell a story and touch others.

-Can you describe your first ever gig, what did you felt?

My first gig was back in 1999 while I was in college and it felt exciting!  It was a party for international students.


- What advice can you give to newcomers that want to be like you or any other influential dj?

My advice is to listen to all kinds of music to explore which sounds and styles move you best.  Then identify those elements to come up with your own style.  But always be open minded and flexible to explore and learn.


-What has been the most difficult experience as a producer or dj, how did you overcome it?

The most difficult was learning the technical part of production software.  Still learning but initially was frustrating. The solution was  being patient and spending a lot of time studying.  Because music is my passion, this always overcomes any frustrations if I focus on the musical aspect.
