Our next guest enjoys his glass of spiced rum on ice: Darper, a UK / Hastings based Producer and DJ. We're always amazed when we listen to his mixes and are more than happy wo welcome this talented producer and versatile storyteller on board!

Darper, a guitarist at heart, spent his formative days running his own label and producing electro. Darper’s sound is a melodic brand of organic electronica, one that sets foot into both the lighter and darker ends of electronic music. DJing from London to San Francisco, Berlin to Burning Man. He has his own long running Electric Fiction mix series on Frisky Radio. And has released music on a number of imprints including Culprit LA, Ton Töpferei, Balance Music, The Soundgarden, Traum Schallplatten, Sag & Tre, Hidden Vibes, Klub Kids and Anjunadeep. Darper continues to develop his sound and is gaining traction with his thoughtful approach to music.

For this new mix, we want to honor a talented artist from Switzerland: Jean Caillou! 
You can listening to in our mix 2 tracks of his wonderful last EP released on Sound Avenue: "Departure Unknow" and "There".

Biography:
Young Jean Caillou fell as a tiny pebble from the sky and struck ground in the picturesque city of Zurich (Switzerland). There the people had an awkward yet joyful custom. Once a year they gathered in great numbers to follow colorful tribal barrows, contorting their bodies to some real outlandish noise. It was at the sylvan aftermath of such a gathering, when the young pebble felt for the first time the immense freedom and energy of a pulsating euphonic moment lost in space and time and has been longing for this sensation ever since.

As the years went by, the not so young anymore Jean Caillou continuously trained his musical craftsmanship to create the sounds, rhythms and melodies he loved so much himself. After some time, the pebble got the attention of a wise Brazilian shaman and together they shared some serious calumet, only to sink at the bottom of the ocean. From there the pebble reemerged, seeing himself reborn as a pretty, but unholy cow, quickly flocking together with some other real loveable conspecifics. Jean Caillou, the cow with the pebbly heart, has been seen lately at the shore of an alpine lake, contemplating over some philosophical issues of time. Let's see where his journey may lead him next

This one is a delicacy not only for connaisseurs of cocktails, but also for those of electronic music. The Dry Martini is brought to you by no one less than versatile composer and musician Aparde, one of our all time favorites!

Aparde sounds like sensivity, melancholia but also moving, maybe a bit challenging belong a strong contrast between driving rhythms and wide, warm and mainly self recorded, unique sounds and atmosphere.

Born at the baltic sea and grown up far away from the scene that is surrounding him now, Paul Camillo Rachel alias Aparde was rooted in several bands, played instruments, do vocals and tried and produced music in many different stylistics.

His music now tries to embody the essence of his way of producing, his goods and technics, packed in emotionally or physical touching, finely arranged, warm and organic sounding songs.

To him, simplicity means to find inspiration and action in direct surroundings or surrounding ones, from a practical view.

Aparde's new album "Alliance" is out on May 28th on Ki Records. We're honored as he included a bunch of his new tracks into this sensational mix, including our absolute favorite of the album!

Bio: "Entrenched in the electronic music community since the early ‘90s, Terron Darby’s experience and understanding separate him as one of the most unique and polished talents in the east coast scene.
Honed by decades in the studio, Darby couples a balanced approach to life with a dedication to the craft, but always leaves room to share his wisdom with others.

From record store manager, to producer, to professional audio engineer, to technology educator, to creating and producing the beloved Playdate New York party series, Darby has walked many musical avenues. Now, his path takes a new turn with the birth of his own label, Dance Artifakts.

Darby’s love for music feeds on one emotion: the feeling of shared positive energy through expression. In his own words:

“Anything that’s this special to me as the music I create and curate, I simply must share so that the person experiencing it can understand and create their own story with it. If something comes from good intention, it will find its way. That is the heart of Dance Artifakts.”

The DJ, producer and composer Ella Romand has been lighting up the scene in South Florida for the past decade, combining the rhythms of her home country Brazil with Deep and Melodic House. Ella consistently delivers outstanding sets wherever she performs, enjoying residencies at the most relevant clubs around town and playing at major festivals such as Ultra and III Points. 
 
Her background as a pianist led her to perform live during her DJ sets, first with her electronic music group Dsided, then on her own solo live acts, where she takes the crowd into a melodic journey with her keys and synths.
 
Her passion for music started early on as she is a classically trained pianist. She went further with her career and moved to the U.S. to pursue a degree in Music, specializing in Music Technology at Florida International University. The French-Brazilian is now based in Miami, where her moody melodies blended with ethnic sounds has allowed her to play alongside DJs like Lee Burridge, Bedouin, Satori, Behrouz, YokoO, Bob Moses, Eli & Fur, and many more. Ella was also invited to co-produce, compose and perform with the acclaimed New World Symphony, working with over 80 musicians for a one-of-a-kind encounter of Classical and Electronic music. 

Ella has performed in countries like México, France, Colombia, Jamaica, Mozambique, and Brazil; while in the U.S. she has performed at major festivals such as III Points and Ultra, as well as Soho Hotel (NYC), W Hotel (Atlanta), Serafina Hotel (Puerto Rico), Elia Beach Club (Virgin Hotels Las Vegas). In Miami, Ella has played and held residencies at underground parties and top venues such as TreeHouse, Do Not Sit On The Furniture, Faena, Floyd, Delano Hotel, Electric Pickle, No. 3 Social, 1800 Lucky, and many others.

Her newest endeavor is her podcast series called Ellaments, featuring new and upcoming artists and labels of Deep, Progressive, Afro, and Melodic House, reaching more than 80K plays through her show. Her most recent release was signed with Manual Music, and she also recently collaborated with the talented Italian producer Giorgia Angiuli on her new label United.
