Paul’s percussion taps straight into your nervous system. And Cameron? Those vocals don’t sing, they hover like a feeling you forgot to name. 🌫️🖤 And now for the part where I spiral. 🌀 Halfway through, I forgot how to blink. When Richard first sent me Know Me Better, I could immediately tell this song had something special. The melody was catchy yet emotional, and the lyrics carried a message that resonated deeply. It was clear that a lot of thought and heart had gone into crafting it.

By the time I got involved, the track was already beautifully written and produced, with Jaime Deraz’s incredible vocals bringing it to life. My role was to refine and elevate it through mixing and mastering, making sure every element found its perfect place. The goal was to preserve the song’s emotional core while giving it the polished, professional sound it deserved.

It’s always an honor to work on music that feels authentic, and this project was no exception. Huge shoutout to Richard for creating such a meaningful song and to Jaime for delivering such a stunning vocal performance. Know Me Better is a song that truly speaks, and I’m grateful to have played a part in its journey.

My sister and I cared for mum in her own home for the last ten years, going every day. Mum had been diagnosed with vascular dementia. This song is more about what I could see coming, the bad days, as at this time mum was still more lucid than not. Daphne Gennery passed away peacefully on the 30th of August 2025 at the age of 95, in her own home, in her own bed.....something that she always wanted....no hospital or care home.

Proud to announce my first collaboration with folk string artist extraordinaire Don Jennings.  Don establishes the feel of the song with his strong rhythm strumming--almost the feel of a Celtic stomp, trying to get the mud off one's boots, but allows me plenty of space for my Requinto guitar that sounds a little like a mandolin in the center-left channel.
