For starters, today is Rients' 35th Birthday so let's wish him a happy birthday!  It is always a very special treat when the Dutch fusion master Rients Draaisma performs, and here he's joined me again on our original, Something Higher.  Rients http://www.rientsdraaisma.com is as deep as guitarists get - simply brilliant - a world class musician who is humble and inspiring to so many.  Check out the lines he creates here over the churning 12/8 time signature.  With Rients' guitar mastery, there certainly has to be something higher.

Something Higher - Rients Draaisma / Jamie Rhind

I set out today with the objective of creating a track that was performed with one take and no overdubs. This is it. There are three patches from theWaves Flow Motion plug-in synth all being driven by the guitar playing the lead. The total recording time to create this was 5:49 - the length of the track. I recorded two different tracks using the same set up - this is the first. Towards the end I use a kill switch to turn off the MIDI input, leaving just the guitar.
