Tuff Ghosts

Carrie and I wrote this song years ago. When she died I just felt I had to record it. This is only a demo unmixed, we only had a few hours to record it. But the lyrics she wrote with me I think are marvelous. Carrie and I used to stay up til dawn chatting and pontificating about life. They were my best moments. Anyway... we wrote a song about staying up too late and hearing the birds sing. Willow Smith is a prodigal angel and was generous enough to lend her golden voice to this little tune.

A late-stage rehearsal straight to cassette for reference. Recorded shortly before going into the studio, probably at John Henry rehearsal rooms. This is Mark on guitar, Lee on drums, and myself on piano and organ (the bass was always addressed in the studio once the basic track was down, which is why it doesn't feature here).

Once upon a time, Scott Bolasci played in bands. He played side to side with some of the most talented musicians in the NY/NJ area. Over those years he collected many hours of playing time, learning as many instruments from whoever would take the time to share their knowledge. 

Born a drummer, he slowly began playing bass, guitar, keys and anything else that would resonate a sound. After the bands reached their peak, and the desire to hang out in bars became tiresome, he retreated to the woods, where he set up a make-shift home studio and records ideas while watching TV and playing video games.
