It's been a while, but here's some new music. I hope you all enjoy! This project features a lot sampled boom bap type stuff, calling back to my earlier years.

"New Destinations" has a lot of different meanings, but in short it's a bit of a reflection of my first 20 years of making music and what the next 20 might be. I've come to a time in my life where the goals of my early 20s don't quite mesh with the goals of my late 30s and I'm okay with that :). Happy to say that music in some form or fashion will still be part of my "New Destination".

Dreaming Of The Golden Era

Inspired by Hip Hop, Soul, Jazz, and Funk to name a few, the North Carolina based producer has been making music for over ten years. He primarily uses the Maschine blending his love of sampling and musicianship together to create new pieces. He is currently a member of We Grow Wax, an international collective of producers musicians.

My Long story:
In 2005 I came across a copy of FL Studio 4 and started making beats with no musical background, just armed with a laundry list of usual suspects for inspiration (Pete Rock, DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, etc.). Sampling primarily from great P2P programs like Kazaa and Bearshare, I moved on from downloading random MP3s and started chopping up records. After about a year of this, I felt a bit limited and wanted to explore other avenues, so I eventually started incorporating original instrumentation into my works. Along the way I began to rely more heavily on a broader list of musical influences from various genres. Within the realm of Hip Hop, some artists include The Roots, J Dilla, and 20Syl of Hocus Pocus. These three have had a very large influence on the sound that I present today, which primarily consists of original instrumentation, with traces of my earlier years of heavy sampling.
