 If you’ve been to just a handful of House, Techno, Trance Or Hard Dance events over the past 7 years, it’s more than likely that you’ve heard one of Scottish’s ground breaking blends of Trance, Euro, Techno and Hard Dance sounds.
2010, and the start of 2011, has seen Scottish’s unbeatable dedication and relentless energy catapult him straight to the forefront of the UK’s Dance scene.
At the tender age of 17, Portsmouth’s very own superstar in the making was finding his feet exploring the local club scene; yet it was at the after parties where his love for music turned into a desire to be on the other side of the decks. Despite not owning a pair of decks himself he watched others, fascinated, and took every opportunity to get up there and give it a go. Finally decks were purchased, and the legend was let loose!

It’s that same get up and go attitude that has earned Scottish the instant respect of clubbers, promoters, fellow djs and producers, setting the highest standards for up and coming djs across the UK. A real crowd pleaser, his stage presence, track selection, live remixing and scratching put some of the UK’s most famous names to shame and have placed him firmly on the line-ups of the country’s biggest promotions.

Scottish’s 2009 debut set for Portsmouth promotion “Twisted Mayhem” was the launch pad for his career, and after a week on the White Isle for Hard Dance Ibiza, the relative unknown became the most talked about name on the UK scene, with sets for Amplified, Toolroom Knights, Ministry Of Sound, Pacha, Slinky , Tidy,  Bionic, Riot, Storm, Audio Surgery, Kiddfectious, Goodgreef, Octane & Squelcher, DHF, Rebellion, Contact, + many more,

Playing alongside some of the UK and Europe’s biggest names, Across so many different styles of music - most notably Roger Sanchez, Pete Tong, Mark Knight, MK, Cats & Dogs, Hot Since 82, Derrick Carter, Prok & Fritch, Ferry Corsten, John O'Callaghan, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Sean Tyas, Lisa Lashes, Saytek, Kutski, Scot Project, Alex Kidd, Kidd Kaos, Organ Donors, DJ Slideout, Lisa Pin-Up, Kevin Energy, Marc Smith, K-90 and Andy Whitby and many  more quickly following. 

When Scottish entered the Tidy Weekender Reunion DJ Comp, run by one of the UK’s biggest Hard House brands, with a Hard Tech / Hardstyle demo, no-one thought they’d hear the second track, yet reaching the final of the competition secured him his first Ibizan set of the year at Atomik Ibiza Bootcamp in June. 
With massive sets coming up at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth, formerly the Opera House, for Riot and Goodgreef at Proud2, formerly Matter and the Hard Dance Ibiza Closing Parties in September, He is now booked for gigs @ The famous Ministry Of Sound events aswell as the the highly respected SLINKY with plenty more to come, 2011 looks set to see Scottish’s career shoot through the roof.

When he’s not tearing the dance floor apart, Scottish is making a name for himself in the production world, with his collaboration with young up and coming star Jordan Duke (Riot!), under the guise Funktional DJ's - F**k the Funk, gaining support from big names around the world including US based Jon Bishop.

Scottish recently released his first solo track on the mighty Organ Donors Implosion Digital with "Dreamers" and with his second solo track "Another Jam" due for release later on in the year, as his love for Harder Edged music gets even stronger his name will continue to appear on more and more line-ups and charts far and wide.

2014 has seen Scottish venture more into Techno & House so keep an eye out for his tracks this year.

If you are searching for dark and hard music of the calibre that has been setting crowds worldwide alight, then look no further than Side E-Fect. Hailing from the UK, in particular the South West, which in itself has spawned many a DJ and producer of the the darker, harder styles, Side E-Fect's distinct sound has had a massive impact internationally.

Consisting of a fusion of hard trance, techno and hardstyle, with deep but resounding kick drums and dark gritty lead sounds, his sound is noticeable both in his DJ sets as well as his production, which takes influence from classic tracks of yesteryear fused with new production techniques. His enthusiasm for this style and an unmistakable level of drive ensure that he will be gracing the scene for many years to come!

Having released a multitude of productions to date, many of which have received leading key DJ and Press support and also radio plays from Radio 1 (Kutski), Q-Dance Radio (Fausto) and others, the future is looking bright for Side E-Fect. With notable singles coming out on the ever growing K405 imprint, he is also a highly in demand remix artist. Labels such as Kiddfectious, Compulzion, Digitally Infected, Gearbox, Friction and AID also feature the Side E-Fect sound, and many productions often top the sales charts on digital download store Trackitdown.

No stranger to the DJ world, the past few years have seen Side E-Fect grace the decks at some prestigious events of his genre all over the country and abroad, with appearences at Bionic, Westfest, Slamming Vinyl, Unity,  Audio Surgery, Escape, Premonition, K405 Events, We Love Bass And Hard Effekt (Aus) to name but a few. He has also been asked to mix two compilations for K405 and has appeared on numerous compilations too.

William Daniel’s passion for electronic music began at a young age, growing up in Scotland during the golden era of trance, techno, and house. His first exposure to underground music came through pirate radio, where he discovered the raw energy of unfiltered club sounds. Listening to these illicit broadcasts fueled his desire to become a DJ, and before long, he was making his own mixes and experimenting with turntables.

In his teenage years, William became involved in pirate radio himself, broadcasting underground dance music to local audiences. These early experiences sharpened his skills in track selection, blending genres, and understanding the energy of a set - skills that would later define his career. His dedication and natural talent behind the decks quickly led him into Scotland’s club scene, setting him on a path to becoming one of the country’s most respected DJs.

William’s career took off when he secured residencies at some of Scotland’s most iconic club nights, including Colours, Inside Out, and Freefall at the legendary Arches nightclub in Glasgow. The Arches was a cornerstone of UK clubbing, hosting world-class DJs and unforgettable nights. His ability to craft euphoric, high-energy sets made him a key figure in the club’s history, earning him a dedicated following.

His deep connection with The Arches lives on through his DJ sets and Forgotten Moments mix series, where he curates nostalgic sets featuring the classic tracks that defined the club’s golden era. These mixes have resonated with fans worldwide, keeping the spirit of the venue alive.

Beyond DJing, William has played a crucial role in the music industry through his work at 23rd Precinct Music, one of Scotland’s most respected independent music publishers and record stores. His experience at 23rd Precinct allowed him to gain deep industry insight, working alongside established artists, discovering emerging talent, and helping shape the trajectory of electronic music in the UK.

His work in A&R, label management, and music publishing at 23rd Precinct strengthened his influence in the scene, giving him a unique perspective on both the creative and business sides of the industry. Through this role, he contributed to the success of various artists and helped curate some of the best music releases in the dance genre.

In addition to his DJing and industry work, William has made significant contributions as a music journalist, writing for M8 Magazine and Beatsmedia.

M8 Magazine was one of the UK’s most respected dance music publications, covering global club culture, artist interviews, and the latest industry trends. William’s in-depth knowledge and firsthand experience made him a key contributor, delivering reviews, features, and exclusive insights into the world of electronic music.
Beatsmedia was an influential online platform dedicated to electronic music news, interviews, and features. As a writer, William helped promote emerging artists, reviewed major releases, and kept fans informed about the evolving dance music scene.
