Brendan Matthew Howe, better known as Howe, is a 19-year-old American rapper and songwriter. Born and raised in Upstate New York, Howe began writing at the early age of 7, inspired by artists like J. Cole, Eminem & NAS whose influence can be heard in his powerful verse work. He prioritizes story-telling and raps to inspire his fans. Attributing his ability to connect with all audiences based on his upbringing - moving through 11 different homes from predominantly black to predominantly white and diverse neighborhoods, Brendan learned to adapt at a young age. Motivated by the social justice climate, Howe’s lyricism expresses movements and principles that are important to him and relevant to his community. Howe aspires to have his own label, perform globally and continue to make relevant and relatable music for his fans.

I got my professional start through the SEEDS programme, an initiative for emerging theatre artists run by Rough Magic and funded by the Irish Arts Council, where I was selected as a sound designer and composer.

I also have experience composing for film and have worked extensively with Dublin-based Vah Vah Films. Most recently I provided original music, sound editing and music supervision for 'With Compliments From The Gentlemen Across The Bar In Oman,' which had its festival premiere in Boyne Valley Film Festival 2024. I also wrote the music for 'Rebecca's Boyfriend' (Vah-Vah Films), which premiered in Indie Cork in 2021.
