2019|06 - The FaceBook Composer's Weekly | Music from the BEST music creators on the internet today

Part I,2 of my "Jenny", Singspiel for woman's voice. In this first scene we get to know Jenny, as she is older and looking back on her life. In this particular part she is anxious to meet her death (the lyrics read "Why should I be afraid to die, or be frightened of my sweet death").
This is why I chose an uplifting melody, with just a few disharmonic (and disrhytmic) points. It is as if she is dancing with Death. I think this might be a good moment to reveal that Death in this play is played by the oboe, which has therefor a very important role in the second half. The clarinet stands for Live, and is more important in the first half.
Part I,2 is one of the shorter parts, but it really needs this drive. The pianosolo in the Coda is actually the beginning of the next part (II, which is all piano-solo), so it can be skipped when all is played as one piece. But here it will serve as an epilogue, to tell the listener this is not the end, even if our protagonist almost begs Death to take her.

Waarom Zou Ik Bang Zijn Om Te Sterven

The instrumentation is the stock nylon guitar sound that comes with the composition program I use, so the piece does sound a lot better played by a human. I'm working on getting an actual, decent human recording. If you'd like to perform/record it, let me know! It's written for four guitars, but eventually I'll transcribe a 2-guitar version. In the meantime, here's what I have. It's the first rondo I've written. It's named after my brother. The form is basically ABACABA. The C section is atonal -- which I'm guessing is unusual to have in the middle of a tonal piece, especially one that's fairly Baroque-sounding, but it was fun to write in, and I think it works -- at least for me!

My name is Borko (i still dont have artist name so heavy hours will do for now :) ) 
I have a dream to be a video game music composer. 
This has, throughout years, proven to be a difficult dream. Problems were numerous through the years of working and trying, and I'll try not to bother you with a lot of sad things. 
I indulge in a healthy amount of self criticism, so my opinion on my compositions is somewhat limited.

I love making music. it is basically who I am. At a core I'm just a regular musician and composer. As many of you know, I cannot monetize my music in any way.
