A quick recreation of my set @ Labyrinth2 on Saturday September 14th 2024. I took the liberty of adding a couple of tracks on the beginning here to stretch the mix out to near 2 hours and give it a bit more of a beginning. From "Sandalwood" on it's pretty much what was performed.

Thanks to arxxin for providing a wonderful opening set, Jay Vyas and Maqām for the opportunity and amazing sets as well. Great music, great people and a great vibe!

Tāndāv Musicā, the brainchild of Halifax DJ Jay Vyas, emerges from the scenic shores of Nova Scotia. With a deep-rooted love for electronic house music that began in his teens, Jay explores a diverse range of genres, including melodic, organic, afro, Indo-house, and techno, infused with influences from Sufi, Indian classical, and Bollywood music.

Inspired by his South Asian heritage and a passion for cultural fusion, Jay's music transcends genre boundaries, weaving expansive textures and hypnotic rhythms that evoke both liberation and connection on the dance floor. His artistic vision, shaped by the cycles of creation, preservation, and dissolution, celebrates the timeless power of dance and music.

Jay has made a significant mark on the Atlantic Canada festival circuit, performing at events such as Future Forest and Electric Pines, and opening for Vibrancy Festival, which featured industry icons like Danny Tenaglia, Chloe Anderson, Conducta, Chloe Robinson, and Maya Jane Coles. As the founder and driving force behind Labyrinth HFX, he continues to spotlight local talent, curating unforgettable experiences for Halifax’s growing electronic music community.

Former fixture of the Atlantic Canadian electronic music scene now turned bedroom DJ with 25 years of experience as a local pro. While Sean no longer performs his love for electronic music remains unabated but evidence of that can only be found by way of his long running mix series "Chilling Moments" now in its 23rd year.

Having compiled an impressive list of accomplishments throughout the years, Sean has played alongside some of the biggest DJs in the industry including Sasha, Deep Dish, Danny Howells, Sultan, Luke Fair and Steve Porter, just to name a few. He has even had the honour of opening for world class DJs slightly outside of his genre such as Armin Van Buuren, Tiga, Calvin Harris, Ferry Corsten, Kaskade and Darude. In 2011 Sean also provided the winning mix in John Digweed's "Structures Two" mix contest and was featured on John's long running radio show "Transitions". An accomplishment that even the most seasoned of pro DJs aspires to.

With Sean's dedication to his craft, ear for the music along with his storytelling ability, each one of his mixes is sure to be an emotional journey through sound.

Monthly mix series alternating between Solar Progressive & Lunar Progressive. The former is an ode to daytime parties; basking under the warm sun, sipping a cold drink, swaying to the melodies as the BPM rises in tempo to the setting sun. The latter is an ode to the underground club scene; deep hypnotic beats & rhythms that move you across the red-litten dancefloor while the strobe light blinds you, heightening your aural sensations.
