My Mother-in-law told me that as a young teenager during the late 30’s & early 40’s, any form of entertainment was welcomed as these were, for many reasons, the hardest of times. 
There was a locally run club which had many types of performers, most of them music related, and she remembers every occasion being full of fun and laughter. There was a small entry fee and all profits went towards supporting the disabled.
Now here’s the best bit.  My Mum-in-law (who, by the way, was the seventh sister of seven sisters - not relevant but true), told me that the club did have an official name but was always known by everyone who went there as 'The Cripple Club'. Not exactly sensitive by today's standards but, personally, I loved the name for it's honest innocence.  As for our Cripple Club, there is only one rule that applies - if you are perfect, you won't get in.  So welcome, one and all.

Yet again, we have to thank Hans for his brilliant work on the track.  As you’ll hear, it grabs your attention from the very start and doesn’t ever let go...   (Terry Reeves)

Having a bit of fun on my take on traditional blues.
Playing guitar, bass and harmonica. Hammond sound and drums played/created with midi keyboard through Studio One daw.

My friends they all say, I’ve got to pay my dues.

Got me a pen and paper to write down what I’d say
Picked up my guitar and thought I’d play in the key of A
But I just drew a blank, and the words just wouldn’t come.
Maybe the mood just wasn’t right, so had me a shot of rum.
That was a big mistake,  now I can’t even play my guitar.

I’m thinking maybe, I may of had it easy.
Nothing too troublesome, and nothing to drive me crazy
Life has been pretty good, really can’t complain.
So many have had it bad and can tell you all about the about pain.

Hey. Thanks for stopping by to see what’s up with me. I hope you are well. What I have noticed recently is, I am like an old dog now when I sleep. I close my eyes and dissolve into my dreams. There, I befriend people I may or may not not know... they may be essences of those past, or imaginative and archetypal beings of some significance. They may contain trace essences of people I know. I can fly, breathe under water, and I may on occasion travel the cosmos in a supernatural sense. I find the realm of dreams to be extraordinarily fascinating. A few years ago, I decided to begin to keep a dream journal which now is just shy of a hundred pages. A future book maybe? This song comes from an amalgamation of several recurring lucid dreams. She Whispers To Me

Conquering and ruling cultures often oppress those they dominate. The oppressed, and those with less power, will always eventually seek justice, representation, and equal power from their subjugators. Those whose culture have been vilified, repressed, and appropriated can regain their power and love by learning about their past, choosing and identifying their cultural heroes for themselves, and restoring their appreciation and celebrations for their ancestors.  

May this song encourage an honest look into your past, acknowledging both the shadow and the light, appreciating the beauty of what was and is, and learning from accomplishments and mistakes to continue our evolution in becoming better co-creators with the planet.

I used some of a bass stem Alpha Roots sent me to make Red Earth Clay and I used the rest of the stem to make Sow Your Seeds. I have one unused bass and drum stem from Alpha Roots that I will make an old school hip hop song with and I may remix his original Hosanna bass stem one day to make a new reggae song. I may also ask Russ if I can make a version of Da Weed using Alpha Roots’ stems one day. After that, I may be complete unless I get gifted some Alpha Roots stems to play with. 

Huge thanks to Chiefo who set the original tone of this song which gave me inspiration for  the lyrics. Big ups to Fady, bit zone, and Lady of Fire Poetry for joining in on this project and adding their collective vibe. Massive thanks to Wou-Wou & the Wormling for keeping the track on skank with his rhythm guitar and for providing us with his incredible art work - commission him for some work y’all!!! GOT IT BAD

Vincent van Gogh passed away July 29th, 1890,
“Vincent’s Letter” was released July 29th, 2020

I figured there’s no better time than 130 years later…

When I was very young, I had dreams about his paintings. 
 His paintings inspired a deep love in me for art at an early age, and I wanted to be a painter like him

 Music won me over, but I remember being about 10 or so - when I first started playing music a lot - and I promised this self-portrait painting of Van Gogh that I’d write a song (or several) for him that a lot of people would hear.  Yea I made a verbal promise to a painting.  
It wasn’t the first or last time...  I was a weird kid.

The funny thing is?  This isn't even Van Gogh, as I much later found out.  It's "Dr. Gatchet", who was a physician who was treating Van Gogh.  Vincent painted him, and they actually look a lot alike!  But I made the promise to this painting, so here it is

The Shadow Goes

Firstly on easy listening 6/4 bars, I cut some notes out of the main theme so as to give it dynamism, and finally obtained a prime amalgam of 17 quarter notes. I hid any recognizable thing in the accompaniment, and for the organic lines (voice and guitars) I tried the strong rhythm would not fix too much the melodies, first paying a lot of attention, and finally ... just letting me go.

Translated lyrics:
