I remember Grimes sat in the corner, just observing me as I lost my fucking mind into a microphone. It was real shit. And it still is. Grimes nods to those days this mix, inspired by the inspired, wandering from the well trodden path into various corners of obscurity and back. Grimes has highlighted the story of Syrian producer Obay Alsharani as a kind of abstract sentiment whilst talking about his guest mix. It's worth reading Obay's story. This tale begins with 'อากาศ' as it reinstills the extans vibration through the poetic words of local Thai artist Tulwai. Already awakened to an array of sound, outsized melodies of emotionally driven segments are felt from 'Dakini' through to 'Shin (Subject to space)' and 'Circa Forever'. A final regression culminates in 'Silom'.

Here we are with another episode of our international mix series. This one is coming straight from the city of Bristol, by Paul Wise aka @placid_88. Paul is a veteran of the scene, collecting records from the late 80's and kicking asses on the dancefloor from the beginning of the nineties, becoming legendary for his sets of 303-drenched acid and his reputation as 'The DJ's DJ'. Nowadays, with his new project, the "We're going deep" label, he's releasing "new music for the dance floor, your front room or even just your headphones". 
He has cooked a straight quality mix of deepness, merging spacey techno and uplifting basslines, with his recognizable acidic touch, and filled in with fresh tunes and unreleased material as well.

#017 A taste of: Placid (We're Going Deep)

This weeks episode also containt emotional content, it also looks like that deep and dubby house sound that emerged from the US in the early 90's has now started to resurface but with a definite UK twist. The man like Adam Pits morphing sounds and genres with ease and pushing things forwards nicely with his new one on XKALAY. Jonno & Tommo from the Ornate stable choosing to incorporate more of the aforementioned sound into their forthcoming release and then as if that wasn't enough they rope in 2 of the finest in Brawther & Andres for the remixes, pure heat!  
 The Australian connection runs deep, Timo Deeprhythms and cohort Steffan who co run Coymix Ltd and Timo's Echocentric dropping bombs from both labels in this show.  Depth & Weight's head honcho delves into the psyche and brigs us a spoken word masterpiece that informs us about the magical properties of the mushroom, gwarn Leee!
