Deepwibe Underground caps off a breakout year by welcoming Nopi back to the label for a new EP. Having first appeared in March of 2019, Nopi has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the organic house underground. In relatively short order the Ukrainian artist has found a home on Akbal Music, Anjunadeep, Do Not Sit, Replug, Proton Music and Sound Avenue. Now following up the June release of his well received ‘Libido’ single, Nopi returns to Deepwibe Underground with a two track showcase entitled ‘Vien’.

Continuing to tread the waters between progressive and organic house, Nopi leans closer to the former on first track ‘Bito’. Played out over seven magical minutes, it’s muscular groove, pulsating rhythms and sweeping effects come together for amazing moments across the first act. With the main break drawing closer a fragmented melodic lead fades to prominence, shifting the narrative from a heads down mentality to one of euphoria and exhilaration. Opening up further across the short but impactful centrepiece, a wall of melody and colour unites with swirling effects and sweeping noise to unleash the groove for a gorgeous melodic finale.

The second and also title selection ‘Vien’ rounds out the release in fine style. Well in line with the previous selection with its fluid, melodic style; it’s a marriage of soulful instrumentation and driving percussion which set the stage for a heartfelt vocal to carry the first act. Once again, the main break is set to delight dance floors with its vocal phrasing and emotional disposition, which perfectly shifts energy into a key changing finale. Exhilarating and memorable, it rounds out another sensational release for Deepwibe Underground, a label who has vaulted itself into elite status across the year and looks forward to an even better 2022. Highly recommended.

PREMIERE: Nopi - Bito [Deepwibe Underground]

Following on from the February 2022 remixes, Meanwhile now returns to Alex O’Rion’s EP as “Echium Remixed, Pt. 2” continues with another trio of outstanding interpretations.

A legendary figure in the world of art, music and underground dance, Roger Martinez has been a central figure with his kaleidoscopic sound and spiritual influences. Music signed to Lost & Found, Replug and his own Higher States have confirmed this status while July 2020’s “Cosmic” was a further notable highlight on Meanwhile. Now returning to GMJ & Matter’s imprint, the Roger Martinez remix of “The Chase” is an uptempo offering that draws on his musical influences with a powerful beat and deep bass groove. Using pitched elements from Alex’s original, vocal cuts shift in stereo-panned glory and epic white-noise risers and infinite delays create a dense swirling atmosphere. Pausing at the breakdown to introduce additional melodic elements, the track then drops back into its hypnotic groove as new melodic motifs create the aptly titled “Interdimensional Remix”.

GMJ & Matter return to their flagship imprint with typical flair and aplomb. Able to point to a rich catalogue of original and remix work in both solo and collaborative guises throughout Meanwhile’s two-year reign at the top of the progressive house charts, the Melbourne based duo provide a powerful and dynamic rendition of the title track. GMJ & Matter have thus taken the effects fuelled “Echium” and transformed it into a dark seething progressive house monster that lurks beneath gently pulsing waves. Serene in its build, delayed synth phrases cascade over each other in endless delay while new melodies twinkle across the mid-range in trademark-soaked reverb and elegantly stratified sonic layers. Maintaining the aural themes sculpted by Alex O’Rion in the original, GMJ & Matter have successfully navigated a new and dynamic path through the beautiful “Echium”.

Imran Khan has cemented a reputation as one of the progressive house fraternity’s leading lights. Almost a double century of production credits has seen remix and original music land on the likes of Mango Alley, Proton Music and Clinique, since a 2016 debut for the latter. Moreover, 2021’s “Push Thru / Horizonz” and “Equinox” have delighted the Meanwhile faithful. Returning for a third remix, the Imran Khan reworking of “The Serpent” is a typically deep and atmospheric affair with huge thumping beat and cavernous bass groove dominating the low end. Capturing the flowing melodic phrasing of the original, pitched synths and pulsating white-noise risers create a thick soup of sound that evolves in bubbling sonic patterns with their origins in Alex O’Rion’s impressive production technique. The resulting marriage of two musical identities finds Imran Khan once again illustrating his impressive production credentials through trademark sound design.

Another musical triptych pays tribute to the sonic diversity found in Alex O’Rion’s music as Roger Martinez, GMJ & Matter and Imran Khan open up in full bloom through the towering “Echium”.

Deepwibe Underground opens the summer season by welcoming Nopi back to the label for a new EP. Ukrainian artist Nopi brings a surreal beauty to his innovative brand of electronic composition. His colourful synth leads, exotic percussive arrangements and smooth, dancefloor minded grooves have made for a sound that is all his own. Emerging in 2019, Nopi has enjoyed a three-year creative swell, earning the praise of electronic music tastemakers such as Behrouz, Guy J, Lee Burridge, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sebastian Leger and more; while All Day I Dream, Do Not Sit, Replug and TRYBESof have served as landing spots for his transcendent sound. Having been a regular contributor to Deepwibe Underground since making his label debut in 2021, Nopi now returns to the label with a two track showcase entitled 'Travelling'.

Opening 2024 with a bang from one of the finest modern progressive house artists, Sebastian Sellares returns to Meanwhile Horizons with his “Uncertainty / Dark Omen” EP.

A producer with a century of production credits for a selection of premium underground dance labels, Sebastian Sellares has been a regular contributor to the likes of Anjunadeep, Proton Music and Dmitry Molosh’s Proportion. Appearances on GMJ & Matter’s Meanwhile have been centred around April 2021’s 3-track “Dunes at Dawn” with high-profile remixes of GMJ, Alex O’Rion and Ivan Aliga adding to an impressive portfolio.

Making his Meanwhile Horizons debut a year after first appearing on the flagship label, the Argentinean star now returns with a brand-new twin-track offering. “Uncertainty” is a brooding, gem that bristles with an industrial-sounding percussive groove. Developing with mute melodic phrasing, a powerfully sustained bassline note drives the track forward with immaculately placed pads and counterpoint motifs adding to the evolving sonic soundscape. With a beautifully conceived palette to provide a sense of unease and incongruity, the opening track is a powerful statement.

Continuing the industrial-sounding narrative of its counterpart, “Dark Omen” builds effortlessly with a strong sense of purpose and identity. Redolent in delays and reverbs, the atmosphere created ensures an uneasy intensity to the track as ticking shakers add a traditional club-friendly urgency. Repetitive motifs progress easily in parallel with a chorus of textures, effects and building pads. A strong bassline motif makes its play at the breakdown before things build once more into the second half; a sharp-edged stereo-panned effect creates a piercing sonic layer with the track showcasing another side to the Argentinean’s production persona.

Through a finely conceived and multi-faceted aural collage, Sebastian Sellares has discovered another winning formula with “Uncertainty / Dark Omen”.

Morttagua returns to Timeless Moment to kick off 2025 with a landmark release: the first EP of remixes celebrating his illustrious 15-year career. This special collection features reimagined versions of three of his most iconic progressive masterpieces, brought to life by rising stars in the genre—Forty Cats, NOIYSE PROJECT, and Facundo Leiarz. 

Armenian talent Forty Cats transforms the introspective “Tesla,” Morttagua’s homage to the legendary inventor, into a mesmerizing deep progressive journey, filled with atmospheric textures and pulsating grooves. 

Sri Lankan artist NOIYSE PROJECT brings a powerful, tribal-infused twist to “Dvaraka,” a mystical track inspired by the legendary submerged city of Hindu mythology, delivering peak-time energy and ethereal dance floor power. 

Finally, Argentinian rising star Facundo Leiarz reinvents “Kybalion,” Morttagua’s track inspired by the ancient Hermetic teachings of Thoth. With an old-school progressive touch, off-beat percussions, and a driving sub-groove, Leiarz reshapes the track into a captivating new form. 

This EP not only honors Morttagua’s career but also showcases the evolution of progressive music through the vision of its future stars.

He has drawn influences from artist like Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Nick Warren, John Digweed, Cid Inc & Guy Mantzur to name a few, some of which have already supported his music
