There is no escaping the majesty of the Dank N Dirty Dubz team in 2023 it would seem, as they continue their rampage in fantastic fashion, delivering a mind-melting compilation drop in celebration of 4/20. Nothing but the most bulbous dubstep heat is included, with the likes of heavyweights such as L-Wiz, Khromi, Nightmare & Oni, Subtle Mind and more all delivering face-melting originals. As always, we get to enjoy a wide range of original steppers' heat, from Legend4ry's percussive-driven roller in 'Closer', to the system-smashing subs and dubwise marches of 'Connected Through The Sound' from CONTRA'. Our highlight however, would of course be the marvellous return of The Widdler, who delivers a sublime sweep through swampy sweetness in 'Dem Boy'.

Forthcoming August 30th 2024, WiddFam welcomes Berlin based Duo ZYCH alongside fellow German collaborator Cruel Culture for a massive 2 track release featuring Milith & Edges.

Milith opens with stomping kicks and ticking percussion - hats increase in energy as moody atmospheres entrance the listener to a dark ravine beneath the murky water. Intense energy crescendos into a final harmony that is a weapon of the dance.

Edges brings us into a digital soundscape with synthetic drones and static noise. Funky bass grooves lay under bouncy drums to create the perfect combination of sonic frequencies to shake your ass.

Its tsunami-esque waves of basslines push the outer limits, while intricate panning techniques adding extra dimensions to the track's stereo image. Changes in percussive rhythms twist the structure of this remix, dragging us closer to the audial experience that exists purely to lead sound system meditation. 

"The switch in advanced bass lineage makes this a notable free download by the German producer (one he unfortunately submitted too late for the original 'Grow' remix competition). It's one we feel suitably shakes the foundations. A worthy effort! Respect is also due to our Banana Stand Sound fan, Oxóssi and ADP for the original content… The fire still burns."
