One and a half years since her last outing on Second State, Amelie Lens returns to the label with her highly anticipated new 3-tracker, ‘Hypnotized EP‘. Following up to the much acclaimed ‘Basiel EP’ issued in 2018 through her own imprint, Lenske, Amelie steps up right in time for the much busy festival season ahead with a pair of razor-sharp peaktime weapons, plus a nasty gabber-inflected remix from rising Belgian duo Joyhauser. With upcoming dates including performances at Sónar, Movement, Awakenings, Exit, Kappa Future and Sonus, needless to say these are bound to get dance floors on fire this summer.

Having triggered a massive response from the audience during her sets over the last year, the title track ’Hypnotized‘ breaks the ice on a fiercely pounding note. Flexing out the heavy kick artillery, brooding chord stabs and cascading snares while Amelie’s delayed vox hooks steadily sink us into a whelming state of trance. Reaching for the most remote recesses of the dancers’ minds, ‘Access’ revs up the engine a notch further with its psychoactive synthwaves, furling and swirling across full bars of louder than loud 909 thump. Adding their euphoric spin to the lead cut, ‘Hypnotized’, Joyhauser seal the deal with an all-out ravey anthem of a rework, custom-built for epic, warehouse-sized maneuvers and iron-pumping mid-set apexes. Shockwaves are coming.

Second State is the platform Pan-Pot calls home, acting as a label through which they can release tracks, host events, showcase fashion and present visual ideas to Techno lovers and dance-floor soldiers  from all over the world.

San Diego born, the community of the dance floor surrounded me at a younger age.
It was normal for house parties to have decks at the command of the music selection. It took me a year or two of observing  the rekordbox patterns until finally I purchased my own controller in the Spring of 2017. 

From here, I was hooked. To be a good DJ you of course need skills, but what I have learned over the last 8 years is that if you want to be a respected DJ, you need tracks. My knowledge of artists stemmed from attending festivals and shows to expand my horizons in the various sub genres of dance music. I enjoy them all and keep an open mind! However, I realized there were simply too many DJs and labels to keep track of new music. I hated the feeling of coming across a banger track and realizing it was released months ago. I wished there was a page that I could follow to give me release updates. In the Summer of 2020, H&TR was born. 

I am now addicted to digging deeper and deeper into the underground to discover every new release across house and techno, and have been doing it for over 150 weeks straight now. I am committed to this mission not only for myself and DJ ability, but I have a passion for sharing good music with others. I love introducing a new artist to a friend that I think they would enjoy. Not just this, but what an incredible feeling it is to “ID” a track when others send me a video. Hence a friend coining me the name “DavID”
