Basse-Cour is proud to announce Release The Ghosts, a thrilling three-track EP showcasing the raw, tough, and visceral techno prowess of a rising talent in the electronic music scene, Canadian artist Queensyze.

Queensyze is a Canadian DJ, producer, composer, and filmmaker. Having produced in various genres throughout her career, she released her debut techno EP The Pretty Lights in 2019, with 2022's follow up Smells Like Acid given a glowing review by Resident Advisor. 

Release The Ghosts is a testament to Queensyze’s uncompromising vision and exceptional production skills. Each track encapsulates a unique and distinct sonic identity, bound together by their unyielding intensity and relentless energy.  

With a seething storm of warehouse and acid influences weaved throughout, Release The Ghosts delivers a provocative sonic journey. Each track immerses the listener in a pulsating, industrial-infused atmosphere, where relentless beats collide with distorted synths and haunting undertones, resulting in an intense and unapologetically visceral techno experience. 

A staple of the Vancouver underground scene, Queensyze is known for her innate ability to connect with her audience through her storytelling lens. Experimenting with records to create new sounds, new rhythms, and learned how to build energy and soundscapes within the limitations of vinyl, these techniques have now become her signature as her DJ sets move fluidly between the hard and subversive much like her original productions.

For catalog number 002, ‘...is serving’ presents Red Rooms’ ‘Pattern of Unconsciousness’, a high-pressure five-tracker that explores the deepest reaches of the subconscious with remixes by Hedström & Pflug, Marsch, and Rill.

‘Pattern of Unconsciousness’ plums the depths of the bared soul. A pulsating, primeval structure, eerily morphing pads, and mesmerizing tribal elements unleash a hypnotic quality that speaks to our base-most perceptions to unlock mind, body, and soul.

Hedström & Pflug trade subtlety for pressure, injecting the original’s mesmeric qualities with punishing force and insistence. Restless, clear-cut percussive patterns, tribal drums, and shuddering sub-bass transform ‘Pattern of Unconsciousness’ into a high-octane offering to the concrete totem.
Setting ‘Pattern of Unconsciousness’ in a vast, reverberating chamber of cascading claves and far-off percussion, Marsch unleashes a relentless hail of traversing stimulants, grounded by a compact kick and a hypnotically hovering synth.

Infusing his pounding techno with dubby chord house, Red Rooms’ ‘Metropolis’ is an up- tempo assault equal parts deep and body-moving with powerful rave undercurrents.

Rill’s rendition moves ‘Metropolis’ into a blippier, more hypnotic realm. Searing bursts of white noise and resonant lasers pierce through a seething substructure of darkly bubbling arpeggios.

With ‘Pattern of Unconsciousness’, Red Rooms artfully combines the stimulating and the soporific, the corporeal and the hallucinogenic, the brutally energetic and the hypnotizing. A journey to the brink of consciousness is served.

Following the success of the duo’s ‘Forte’ album earlier this year, Pan-Pot’s highly esteemed Second State label is thrilled to announce the release of the 13th edition of the ‘SUM’ various artist compilation. As a celebration of Techno music, this compilation showcases the genre’s finest, promising to leave a lasting impression on enthusiasts worldwide.

The tracklist, curated with precision, features a diverse range of artists, each contributing unique sounds that encapsulate the soul of techno music. The compilation initiates with the pulsating energy of “Warehouse Impulse” by Audio State, setting a high-octane tone from the outset. Ben Champell’s “Give Me That” follows, with its raw and powerful sound captivating listeners. The hypnotic journey continues with “Basic Instinct” by Bruce Zalcer, showcasing intricate melodies and driving rhythm. Chris Hirose & RNDTXTR collaborate on “Sits,” a track that fuses deep basslines with harsh percussion and pulsating synth stabs to create a mesmerising atmosphere.

The middle of the compilation is marked by the spell-casting sounds of “Keep Dancing” by Katnada, followed by “You Will Not Colonize” by Kmyle, which exemplifies the genre’s rebellious spirit. Kristian Heikkila’s “Craft,” M.F.S Observatory’s “Interstellar,” and Procombo’s “Freaks” each add a unique flavour to the compilation, pushing the boundaries of Techno. Ramon Tapia’s “DSP Engine” and Wigbert’s “Delayed” conclude the compilation emphatically with a duo of tracks that champion the true versatility of Techno as one of the world’s most celebrated musical concepts.
