Second State’s next various artist offering comprises a broad and varied selection of stand-out producers from the UK, Holland, Israel, Spain and beyond. Bristling with 11 vibrant pieces, SUM 10 exhibits the ever-evolving sound of the accomplished Berlin imprint.

Long-standing luminary of Tel-Aviv’s underground scene @yotamavni opens up with “Afrika Salam”, a chuggy cut with tribal and abstract sonic elements. Following is a return to Second State from Amsterdam based producer @tahko, who incorporates pulsating basslines, distorted mechanics and a doomy, trembling vocal sample in “Relieved”. Switching things up is Berlin based duo @mistakemade, who equip the album with their buzzing, breaks infused cut “Othau”.

Next up are three producers who give us a glimpse into what’s to come on Second State over 2021. Londoner @kai_van_dongen uses mesmeric notes that swirl above thumping bass in his glistening roller “Hypno 5”, while Madrid’s @indirapaganotto incorporates a trembling kick and hissing female vocal that vigorously build tension in her contribution “Katsumi”. Next up is Portuguese producer @hollden_official with “Myosotis”, a bubbling electro-infused expedition that immerses listeners by sampling deep, shallow breaths and radio chatter. Italy’s @giorgiaangiuli-1 & @boston-168 join forces on the record, enlisting Angiuli’s airy vocals and the Italian duo’s signature acid sound for psychedelic track “Entrainment”.

Resistance is Techno resident @endrewmusic from Italy comes back to his debut label with “Release”, complete with a colossal kick drum, jumping chords and dreamy pads that float deftly under heaving percussion. German producer duo @dysfaction take the reins next in “Synaptic Accelerator”, opening with a kick and pulsating synths before a bellowing organ commands focus. Rounding off the compilation are two immensely skilled Spanish producers, David Granha and Auriga. @dgranha steps up with arpeggiated metal riffs and nonlinear hi-hats in his vigorous composition “Roopkund”, maintaining the energy of the record with many layers of instrumentation. Closing out is @aurigasound with her epilog “This Is Our World”, a booming kick drum sets the pace whilst a robotic voice echoes and fades, allowing scattered keys, sharp synths and snare drums to bring a menacing tone to the finish.

Dysfaction - Synaptic Accelerator

Der geborene Berliner Jan Ritter verfiel der elektronischen Musik schon in jungen Jahren, inspiriert von Künstlern wie Daft Punk, The Prodigy und der Technoszene der 90er Jahre kam Jan auch schon früh in Berührung mit Elektronischen Klängen. Schnell wurde ihm klar, dieses Interesse zu intensivieren und er fing an sich mit künstlich erzeugten Tönen zu beschäftigen. Hilfreich hierfür war auch sein Klavierunterricht mit dem er als er 11 Jahre war begann, und sich selbst motivierte das Klavier zu beherrschen. Fasziniert von all den Möglichkeiten, war klar, dass das mehr als nur ein Hobby werden sollte. Jan fing mit 21 Jahren an Musikproduktion und Audiodesign zu studieren. Mit großem Interesse verfolgte er seine Visionen. Erste Clubbesuche im Tresor, Maria oder MIKZ ebneten dann den Weg in die Technoszene, angesteckt von der Kultur, der Atmosphäre und dem Vibe Berlins nach der Jahrtausendwende. Das Zusammenspiel von der Melodie und des harten, treibendem Bass ist für ihn sehr wichtig. „Ich liebe es Leute mit meinen Sets und Tracks auf eine Reise mitzunehmen und sie zu berühren.“ sagt er selbst. Es gibt für ihn nichts schöneres als den Menschen etwas Besonderes mitzugeben, denn für ihn ist der Bass in der Musik die emotionale Erweiterungen der Melodie nach unten. Man spürt ihn unmittelbar am ganzen Körper. Gänsehautmomente. Jan produzierte bereits 3 Jahre erfolgreich Eigenkreationen für Film und Serienproduktionen als er sich dazu entschloss, seinen bisherigen Job an den Nagel zu hängen und sich voll auf sein ganz eigenes Projekt „Jan Ritter“ zu konzentrieren. Ein neuer Schritt in die Richtung seiner Passion. Seit 10 Jahren produziert er schon eigene Musik doch „Jan Ritter“ war sein erster richtige Schritt nach draußen an die Öffentlichkeit. Die Erfahrungen die er sich durch seine Arbeit als Filmmusik Komponist angeeignet hat findet sich auch in seiner Musik wieder. Dramaturgie, Spannungsbogen und Harmonie. Seine Tracks/Remixe sind immer sehr emotional und erzählen immer eine Geschichte, die er mit den Stücken verbindet. Oft entstehen seine Tracks nachdem er gewisse Dinge erlebt hat und die Musik hilft ihm diese Dinge zu verarbeiten oder die Emotionen darin festzuhalten. „Ich liebe es Tracks zu produzieren, die die Leute in eine andere Welt entführen, sie von ihrem Alltag fliehen lassen können [...], dabei ist es mir wichtig „Hörer-Tracks“ sowie einfach geile Tanzbare Bretter zu produzieren um das Publikum zuhause, als auch in den Clubs zu erreichen.“ so Jan selbst.

Second State is the platform Pan-Pot calls home, acting as a label through which they can release tracks, host events, showcase fashion and present visual ideas to Techno lovers and dance-floor soldiers  from all over the world.

Out of nowhere the German prodigy duo Dysfaction surprised the whole Techno scene. With a rocketing start, Jan Ritter and Christian Brattig signed a jaw dropping track on Pan-Pot’s imprint Second State giving their career a clear direction. High quality, mind melting, next generation Techno flanked with strong synthesizer lines and a guarantee to turn peoples head. Their post apocalyptic style remixes contrasting elements from the past, the present and the future of raving. Dysfaction’s tracks are epic soundtracks that breaks with people's expectations and takes you on an exhilarating ride. 
The Berlin based duo more than once showed that they can move a crowd. From clubs dark basements to big stages, the energy and excitement they bring to every show with their unique and ecstatic productions promises them a bright future in the Techno scene.

Jan grew up in Berlin and in early years he discovered his passion for music. With the age of 10 he entered the world of music by playing the piano. Within the next years he became more and more addicted to music and made one step forward- with the age of 13 when he started producing some early tracks.
Electronic music had always been a big deal for Jan but gained more and more importance when he moved to Brandenburg. The hard, dark and minimal techno-style of Brandenburg’s DJs had been a big inspiration to him and formed the base of his actual style.
After almost 5 years living in the exile he moved back to his hometown Berlin. Here he decided to get more professional and started studying musicproduction. As a part of this studying he emerged as a DJ but also as a Producer.
Getting more and more attention in Berlin’s music scene he started playing public in the year of 2007. The next years ran quick and the passion grew even bigger.
In 2012 he got famous in the fight against fraudulent promoters and the GEMA Tarifreform and he also split up with his former booking agency U9 Bookings, which wasn’t supporting his efforts.
In Summer of 2012 he played on a big demo against the GEMA which received a lot of public feedback.
After producing music for over 4 years without an official release until 2013 he decided that it was Time to face the public with an official release on the fresh label “Capitol Input”.
