Hungarian producer Norbert Péter a.k.a Norvis adds to an immaculate back catalogue thats touched EXTIMA, Animarum, and Orange Recordings with 'Descending' - a progressive 2-track voyage that strikes an irresistible balance between brute force and lightness of touch.

The title track opens up with strident, shark-tooth sonics that move swiftly and neatly through murky atmospherics. There's a deep-set swing in the rhythm which when combined with his playful synth work and nifty drum fills makes for a kinetic and highly addictive cut. 

'A World Without Fire' follows up with the reverse of the coin. More syncopated fills ricochet off jagged stabs and the result is another spry slice of Techno that's impossible to resist dancing to. 

Progress courses forward, carrying the listener through an adrenaline-rich trip before the record reaches its apogee. A haunting vocal sample gives way to a bright, expressive crescendo that wraps up a satisfying conflation of Central European Techno, Prog and groove-focused Minimal.

Next up on Kuukou is a single from factory of tricks and master of surprises - the Hamburg based Lampé.

Lampé recalls a fond dance floor moment, playing to an open air crowd in Switzerland who were challenged by heavy rainfall. After loosening up and falling under his spell, the crowd discarded their shoes and raved on regardless of the conditions. This stands in his memory as a pure example of the unifying powers of music and it's this spirit that is channeled into the aptly titled 'Drop Your Shoes'.

The track is sharp, potent but playful as it sends fanged synth stabs over a propulsive prog bass line. Steely tones and angular stabs build in layers as pressure mounts through magnetic rises that suck energy inwards. Attention is repeatedly drawn inwards in waves before the energy is unshackled, sending powerful ripples out on to the floor in a manner that's guaranteed to shed inhibitions as well as shoes.

Wrapping up the twelve tracker are ‘Wiggle’, a wild track of the winner of this year’s Beats in School competition by Beatport and Second State, and the label’s mainstay BEC’s instant hit ‘Three Words’, resulting in a finely curated package that will deliver in any moment.
