Back in May, we Debuted a track called "Just"; you might just have heard of it. @feelmybicep are no strangers to breakout belters, but even by their standards this one has been picking up a heap of plaudits. So naturally we're more than willing to help facilitate their next step toward world domination, especially given as it arrives via their own cherished namesake imprint.

This, the title track from another forthcoming collaborative release with Hammer (an artist the Belfast boys are putting serious muscle behind) is equally tense and beguiling. It hooks you in from the word go, with a nagging piano lead, ooft-y mini breakdown and shiver-inducing sirensong calling through the mist. Close your eyes and you can imagine "Dahlia" laying waste to festival stages – oh wait, that actually did actually happen at Bicep's homecoming BR. Go figure.

You can physically feel FMB005 from September 7th.

Solid Steel (22nd July) In Hour 1 we invite Paleman to Solid Steel. He's had a string of releases on Loefah's Swamp 81 and sub label 81, from his collaboration with Zed Bias, to the club anthem Beezledub and most recently the Yrs Ago / Animus 12". He told us;
"Thanks for listening to my mix for Solid Steel radio - it was an honour to be asked and to record the mix. My thoughts behind the mix were to capture the mood i'm in musically at the moment. It seems I'm attracted to tunes where the mood is an ambiguous blend of emotions rather than an open celebration of one or the other. Joy mixed with paranoia. Hope mixed with uncertainty. Confidence mixed with self doubt. All the in-between states of daily life. I love music that straddles the emotions and leaves you a little dazed but not confused - allowing you to reflect and analyse your thoughts whilst experiencing it. There is some new music from up and coming artists who email me their tunes regularly for my radio show, a lot of my own sketches and unreleased tunes and also snippets of film soundtracks from modern horror films and also some 20th century classical music. I really hope you enjoy the mix..I enjoyed compiling something that is away from clubland but also reflects it in some ways. Like a painting of a painting of a painting or a fractal mirror in a hotel lift. Hopefully the mood and colours intrigue the listener a little when they sit down with the mix : )"

Audiojack say “The idea for Senses came from watching a documentary; we sampled the narrator and edited the recording, splicing together different words and sentences to create something new. On the Road was made after reading Jack Kerouac’s book of the same name, then digging deeper to find other players of that time like Ken Kesey who went on the road sampling LSD with the Merry Pranksters.  We ended up at Albert Hoffman who first synthesised LSD by mistake. He's sampled in the track describing his first experience on the drug.”

Flug, as his name suggests, allows his audience to take a trip back to their roots, back to their inner self and what it is to really feel techno. The Argentinian´s definition of techno has been clearly demonstrated not only through his DJ sets in clubs and festivals all around the globe that are as devastating as they are uplifting with his serious kick drums, use of hi-hats and reverberating bass lines, but also through driving his own organically produced techno forward through his releases and remixes. His music is now recognized and played worldwide due to his unrivalled and brutal self-discipline in the studio, his humbleness in approach, his fierce passion and overall dedication.

For 100% Pure, Flug has produced ”I Like Stress” EP comprising 2 remixes by label head 2000 and One and artistic duo Atoll.

On the back of two huge remixes, label bossmen Spektre are back with a scintillating original. “Forged in the Heart of a Laserbeam” is a sci-fi tinged, trance-infused slice of techno. An unusual, haunting synth sequence morphs and evolves through the track, being joined by epic pads and juddering, gated vocals.
The remix package comes courtesy of Skober and Sasha Carassi. Skober stays fairly true to the original with his mix, whilst cranking up the breakbeats in the drop and giving it his unmistakable spin.
Sasha Carassi strips things right back, and rebuilds a seriously cool, contemplative cut around the strings and pads.

Misfit Music’s 4th release comes from Manchester’s Rudosa. The former Sankey’s MCR resident is no stranger to the House & Techno world, but he’s certainly been on a run of form in 2017. His tougher Techno sound has seen him step up to a higher gear, gaining support from Drumcode regulars like Luigi Madonna, Amelie Lens, Pan Pot and of course Adam Beyer.
With Rudosa’s tracks becoming a regular fixture in montel’s Misfit club sets, it seemed appropriate for for the Manchester producer to receive a call up for the label. We think you’ll agree that the music he’s come up with provided Misfit Music with yet another high calibre release! Label honcho montel steps up for the remix of lead track ‘The Difference’ providing a tough and heavy House alternative to the Techno flavoured original.

Shlomi Aber makes his debut on Drumcode Ltd with a piercing four-tracker for the vinyl only offshoot.

Israel’s Shlomi Aber remains of techno’s most consistent artists, with a career stretching back 15 years. The label boss of Be As One, Aber has also had his music released on such imprints as R&S, Figure and Ovum, reinforcing his status as a purveyor of classy yet impactful techno. 

His contribution to Drumcode Ltd puts a fresh take on the classic pounding DC sound of the label’s early years, an era the DJ/producer has long been a fan of. Beginning with ‘Inflict’, the EP lays down its heavy-hitting intentions from the onset, as a persistent muffled vocal build beneath a bed of steely percussion, creating a dark tension-filled atmosphere. ‘Accelerator’ follows, the title track that was quite literally born at Basel’s own techno temple Nordstern this year when Aber crafted it into a stunning cavernous beast, using his 909 and XOXBOX Acid machine. ‘Typeface’ is stripped back and functional, an energy-packed tool for building extended techno journeys. The four-piece is rounded out by the fantastic ‘Rain Storm’, that lowers the intensity, as the six-minute cut introduces a new groovier element to the work and concludes the EP is sharp fashion.

It’s common knowledge by now that the name Stephan Hinz is synonymous with cutting-edge, big room anthems and his latest output, the ‘Juncture EP' continues to attest to the consistency of his prowess.
Hinz’ kicks off with the self-titled ‘Juncture’ as massive low end, crisp hats and burly percussion lay the ground work for a delicate and hypnotizing lead forging an impeccable balance between two opposing themes. Changing themes but sticking to his trademark approach ‘Panopticon’ lets the drums do the work. What can almost be considered a tool stands alone as heaving bursts of sonic gold explode through the percussive barrage creating an incredibly versatile tune suited for any occasion. Ramon Tapia drops his first solo outing for Truesoul with the classy ‘Manipulate’.

The recent outstanding form of Ramon Tapia has been too good to ignore for Adam Beyer. In December the Belgian dropped the powerful ‘Hexagon’ as part of the Truesoul V/A EP, and with Beyer’s attention on lock, follows up swiftly with the excellent ‘Manipulate’ EP.

The title track embodies the ethos of Truesoul to a tee; a crisp and groovy work that straddles the divide between house and techno, it’s a late-night burner that shines courtesy of a dark searing electro bassline and pin-sharp drum work that builds up to a deliciously nasty finish. Its accompaniment is ‘Adam and Eve’, a punchy peak-time cut elevated by an energetic vocal, atmospheric pad and energetic melody line that has it begging to be dropped during a euphoric festival moment.

After her album ‘SoMe’ was released to critical acclaim last November, Anja Schneider has kept on creating. The first EP release on new imprint Sous Music is a pounding transcendental techno work, made for 4am raving. 

2017 was a watershed year for Anja Schneider; the end of a long successful chapter at mobilee and the beginning of an exciting new era with the launch of Sous. The pivotal change has brought renewed freedom and vigor to the Berlin artist’s creative output. So much so that a new EP ‘Prosperity’, has followed straight after, as Schneider continues her inspired streak of form. 

Those expecting a thematic follow on from ‘SoMe’, may be surprised, however. The title track is her grittiest production in years, a trippy techno weapon propelled by a hypnotic vocal and stripped back drum work that’s been highlighting the artist’s sets in recent times. It’s accompaniment ‘Signs’, is deeper and groovier, as Schneider channels Chicago house in her own trademark style – equal parts cheeky and moody.

After his hugely successful HUB EP and a string of killer releases on his own BLK DRP imprint, Second State mainstay Michael Klein returns with what may be his best work to date with his ‘Peters Hand’ EP.
Klein delivers three absolute burners that somehow embrace the purely functional floor filler prerequisites to ensure maximum range of playability yet he maintains an incredible amount of character and uniqueness setting them apart from anything else. Add to that a rework from the master Heiko Laux, and ‘Peters Hand’ is an absolute monster of an EP. Both ‘Peters Hand’ and 'Broken Keys’ span the A-Side and are a testimonial to the one of a kind approach Klein has to building grooves that are intense and gripping. Flip to the B-Side and Heiko Laux’s remix of ‘Broken Keys’ is a tour-de-force, wall of sound full of tension and euphoria. To round it out ‘Daniels Dream’ sees him finish the EP showing a fairly playful side balanced delicately over an unrelenting and one of a kind Michael Klein groove resulting in a stunning return to the label.
