While Bäumel's “Vapour” album could best be described as headphone techno, the remix package is one for the DJ's. We specifically selected artists from different musical backgrounds to help introduce the label to a broader audience. All of them are connected to Trouw and close to our hearts. Family matters!

Joris Voorn needs little introduction, he is Trouw resident dj and one of the best known and most successful artists in the club scene, a hit machine with the midas touch. His interpretation of “Vapour” is one of his deeper productions of recent times but with that same irresistable drive and roof-raising capability that is so typically Joris. 

Petar Dundov has delivered a meandering monster of a mix – beautiful, mysterious and medieval like a dark and ancient fairytale. His ultrasparse use of percussion elements gives him that instantly recognisable sound that we all fell in love with when he graced Trouw with a live performance. 

Nuno Dos Santos is not only one of Trouw's most popular dj's but has put his name on the producer map in a big way with his debut album on Compost and his recent string of remixes. His interpretation of “Tactile” is probably the most modern and experimental mix out of the three.

The Breaking New Soil series reaches Vol.7 and is set to prove, once again, just why its presented Gregor Tresher's label with some of its most popular and successful releases to date.   Previous instalments have introduced a number of new artists alongside many of our label favourites. #7 features a full Break New Soil dream-team in the shape of Patrick Siech, Maxime Dangles, Per Hammar and Gregor Tresher & Petar Dundov.   "Its nice to gather a few of the family together once again, and this time we've all turned in tracks that are on a somewhat darker tip." - Gregor Tresher  

First up is Patrick Siech with the moody, prowling 'Return'. "I've been playing this for a couple of months now" says Gregor. "Its one of those tracks that really lifts the floor if you drop it at the right time."  

Maxime Dangles makes a much anticipated return to the label with 'BBA'. "I'm so happy to have Maxime back on the label. His Lyoc track has been a real highlight of our entire catalogue and i'm a real fan of his amazing music. With BBA he's delivered once again.

"  Following up their mighty Taurus single from earlier this year, Gregor and Petar Dundov have returned to the studio to create yet another dancefloor gem. Elegant and anthemic, 'Cosmic Serpent' is everything we've come to expect from the pair. "Personally I don't believe in talking too much about my own music. So i'll leave it to you… enjoy."   

The collection is closed by a track that's actually been a regular opener for Gregor's own sets, Per Hammar's 'Cloaker'. "It's all about the menacing intro on this new number from Per and thats why its become a favourite for me."

The return of Michael Klein was imminent. Considering the magnitude of his last offering, the „Drawing EP“, it was only a matter of time before he returned with another stellar parcel of forward thinking dance floor bombshells. With his latest contribution ‚Metals EP’, Michael presents four stunning numbers displaying not only his trademark sound, but his evolution and range as a highly promising new artist.
The expedition kicks off with „Silver“ and with it a lush presentation of the perfect balance between thrust and elation. While a persistent rush of momentum keeps the pace, slow yet infectious rises and vast ethereal cries of spacious flickers set the stage for a cosmic ride reminiscent of indigenous settings with boundless, star lit skies.
Following suit on the A side sees Michael return to his approach heard on his last EP. Somewhere between the traditional fundamentals and the future stylings of the most distinguished techno lies „Opaque“. With incredible force and exuberance, Klein delivers off kilter grooves that create a contagious, sweat laden exhilaration, nothing short of pure warehouse bliss.
Kicking off the B side is „Outer Shell“ and it is by far the most emotional and cosmic of all the tunes. Opulent melodics construct beams of radiant light found only in the outer reaches of deep space as flashes of meteoric rises and low bursts of impetus propel the auditor into a never-ending journey into a place where time and space cease to exist.
Wrapping things up is a slow burner entitled „Dura 2 feat. aGhost“. A tune that can be played fast or at the slower original speed, it's a beautiful demonstration of resistance and inflection. As chants of a mysterious female fill the room, shimmers of lavish chimes circle slowly to secure an impassioned sentiment of sorrow, excitement and desire.
To compliment the beauty of 'Dura 2' we've enrolled the services of Roman Lindau to put his spin on the original. With just a few elements Lindau expertly creates a monster of a dance floor stormer. As the bassline continually grows and shrinks with a simple but highly effective four to the floor groove, the excitement swells as short stabs of vocals entice the crowd to peaking trepidation.
