Second State’s next various artist offering comprises a broad and varied selection of stand-out producers from the UK, Holland, Israel, Spain and beyond. Bristling with 11 vibrant pieces, SUM 10 exhibits the ever-evolving sound of the accomplished Berlin imprint.

Long-standing luminary of Tel-Aviv’s underground scene @yotamavni opens up with “Afrika Salam”, a chuggy cut with tribal and abstract sonic elements. Following is a return to Second State from Amsterdam based producer @tahko, who incorporates pulsating basslines, distorted mechanics and a doomy, trembling vocal sample in “Relieved”. Switching things up is Berlin based duo @mistakemade, who equip the album with their buzzing, breaks infused cut “Othau”.

Next up are three producers who give us a glimpse into what’s to come on Second State over 2021. Londoner @kai_van_dongen uses mesmeric notes that swirl above thumping bass in his glistening roller “Hypno 5”, while Madrid’s @indirapaganotto incorporates a trembling kick and hissing female vocal that vigorously build tension in her contribution “Katsumi”. Next up is Portuguese producer @hollden_official with “Myosotis”, a bubbling electro-infused expedition that immerses listeners by sampling deep, shallow breaths and radio chatter. Italy’s @giorgiaangiuli-1 & @boston-168 join forces on the record, enlisting Angiuli’s airy vocals and the Italian duo’s signature acid sound for psychedelic track “Entrainment”.

Resistance is Techno resident @endrewmusic from Italy comes back to his debut label with “Release”, complete with a colossal kick drum, jumping chords and dreamy pads that float deftly under heaving percussion. German producer duo @dysfaction take the reins next in “Synaptic Accelerator”, opening with a kick and pulsating synths before a bellowing organ commands focus. Rounding off the compilation are two immensely skilled Spanish producers, David Granha and Auriga. @dgranha steps up with arpeggiated metal riffs and nonlinear hi-hats in his vigorous composition “Roopkund”, maintaining the energy of the record with many layers of instrumentation. Closing out is @aurigasound with her epilog “This Is Our World”, a booming kick drum sets the pace whilst a robotic voice echoes and fades, allowing scattered keys, sharp synths and snare drums to bring a menacing tone to the finish.

DJ Sodeyama readies ‘Makura EP’ for Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects.

Running the Arpa label from Japan since 2011, DJ Sodeyama has been actively involved in house and techno since the early 90s. Releasing music on labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Children of Tomorrow, Quartz and more under his The People In Fog alias, DJ Sodeyama now arrives on Radio Slave’s hard-hitting techno imprint Rekids Special Projects for his first appearance on the label.

Leading the release is ‘Catura’, bringing gentle flowing pads and gorgeous twinkling synths before the trippy, acid-tinged ‘Kumbhira’ takes a darker turn, sending the listener down a polyrhythmic rabbit hole. ‘Makura’ ups the tempo, drawing for sharp and fast percussion hits amongst ghostly atmospherics, an atmosphere matched by the deep and rolling ‘Pajira’, before ‘Sandira’ closes the release with a moody heads-down track complete with hypnotic synthesis and quirky FX.

The latest release on his Crisis Of Man imprint is a testament to an innate capability for avant-garde production and boundary-crossing acoustic vision. ‘Modern Romance’ samples a plethora of hard-dance influence, delivered alongside a handpicked team of uniquely profound artists with individual spins on the raucous original mix.

Released on 5th August, ‘Modern Romance’ is a pulsating techno record with driving beats and rave-inspired acid lines. Combining a pounding core of solid drums and knife-life hat sequences with an explicit vocal topline, its modulating analogue feel delivers a worthy peak-time dancefloor weapon.

Dave N.A. provides the first of the accompanying remixes, which will be packaged into the second part of the release out on the 19th August, combining rambunctious breakbeat rhythms to carve out an instant classic - reminiscent of the early days of jungle.

Luciid treads an industrial techno line, serving up a relentlessly warehouse-worthy remix at breakneck speeds that will heat the soles of even the thickest stomping boots.

RS:VC rounds off the release with another electrifying remix offering. Leaping fearlessly into the realm of hardcore, this interpretation will quench the thirst of even the most seasoned ravers, injecting a ferocious stream of hammering kicks and piercing percs alongside eerie melodic layers and hair-raising drops.

One of the basic functions of electronic music is to create a stimulus and generate a response. Without this nothing makes sense. That's why Joton in this new EP intends to use his characteristic techno sound to provoke in electronic music lovers a strong response, without half measures, without filters, without prefabricated tricks. "Stimulus and Response" is composed by 4 tracks that compose a journey that moves away from the linear path and proposes a constant roller coaster of emotions.   

"Moving Forward, Not Back" - Joton Ft. Zaid was created during one of Joton's online production courses and is a clear example of the possibilities of collaborative work between teacher and student, achieving a perfect symbiosis and coordination.

"Angry Is Easier" is an example of forceful techno, hard, without concessions, that looks for the purity of the sound without half measures. 

 "Iquique" was made during a group course in the city of Iquique in Chile, during Joton's last tour in South America 2 months ago. A sample of the power of improvisation, of how in a matter of seconds you can compose a piece that gives off an unusual freshness.

"All That Glitters" stands out for its forcefulness, a strong proposal, a direct sound designed to blow up the danceflor. It is an off beat track, a perfect tool for the mix, with percussive elements that flow unbound through the stereo.

“ All That Glitters “ destaca por su contundencia, una propuesta fuerte, un sonido directo diseñado para reventar la pista. Se trata de un track off beat, una herramienta perfecta para la mezcla, con elementos de percusión que fluyen sin ataduras por el estéreo.
