Diría que "Circus EP" tiene un poco de más groove que mis producciones anteriores; he trabajado mucho más con bajos. Antes mi música era más mínimal entrelazado con energía techo, pero para esta referencia no hago ninguna mezcla. Creo que se podría decir que este es mi nuevo sonido, que se encuentra entre tech-house y techo. Las lineas de base son más house pero llevan consigo siempre una energía techo.

If you’ve followed Dirtybird for a while, then you’re surely aware of Sacha Robotti. He’s graced the label several times the past 5 years, but often with a collaborator-Kill Frenzy, Kevin Knapp, Justin Jay, Look Like, etc. 

“Melato Nina” is Sacha’s first solo EP with us and both tracks are filled with emotion, appropriately so. The title track continuously builds around the haunting synth melody and the subdued vocals of Tauon, while the melodic “Low Key Goddess” contrasts the extremes of light & dark sounds to culminate in two brilliant pieces of music.

Hot on the heels of our tentacular project ’The Most Famous Unknown’, Planet Phuture is proud to welcome rising French talent Cuften to the fold. A most fitting match for PP’s phuture-facing vision, Damien Peltier has been pushing some of the finest techno around over the last couple of years, landing a handful memorable cuts via the likes of Parisian label Tripalium and his own imprint, Purusu. Cloaked in dim-lit atmospheres and open-ended post-apocalyptic narratives, his debut solo 12” blends in all of the elements that made his sound stand out from the crowd of releases coming up these days - traversed by dogged primitive rhythms and reassessed 303-infused Detroit’isms, but also stamped with his signature no-frills rave elegance. 

Speeding up the cosmic highway like Deckard roams San Fran’s neon-splattered alleys on the hunt for replicants, Cuften takes us on a full-immersion journey into dystopian electronic soundscapes. Full-beam on, ’Solar Ashes’ has us drifting amidst ruins of a devastated city - its lysergic bass languidly threading its way across brutalist concrete facades and cold ember set for reignition. A more martial affair, ’The Black Rain Order’ pulls out the rattling drums, slo-boiling arpeggios and moebius-strips of wistful acid to score a supremely tense crescendo, both optimally tasted on and off the dance floor. 

Moving up closer to the free-spirited vibe of the '90s open-air raves, ‘Rise Of The Neo-Humans’ unleashes a baroque firestorm of sucker-punchy toms and hyperventilating shuffle, woven against an endlessly expanding corolla of hallucinogenic shapes and fluttering harmonics. Sinking further deep into all-dark dubby grounds, ‘Lasttt Batttle’ extrudes its obsessive melody out a thick gangue of squelchy chords and bleepin’ engineering to form the kind of brain-washing hybrid pumper that'll roast your last remaining neurones. Trouble-brewing isn’t over though and the droney ‘Kjhfskjoize’ shall take you to places unknown through eleven minutes of envelope-shifting shamanism, thinking noise bake-off and gravity-defying arrangements. Bend your mind.

-How long have you been creating music?

- I create my music, about 4 years ago.

-What do you use to make your tracks?
I use fl studio, and some native fl studio synthesizers that I love so much

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
- I got to know Dirtybid about 9 years ago, through a friend he shows me the track 'Deep Throat' by Claude VonStroke that I loved a lot and other tracks by artists that will be there.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you like to collaborate more with?
-Claude Vonstroke, Ardalan, Holt 88 who is a great childhood friend who supported me a lot in music production and among others.

-If your entire life was a film, what title would you improve?
-Looking for happiness. ..

-What is the best show you've ever been to?
- Kaballah 2015, I spent the whole event on the DIRTYBIRD stage, it was an incredible thing for my life.

-If you could travel back in time, where and when would you go?
-Kaballah 2015, was something unforgettable for me.

-What kind of bird are you best at and why?
- The bluebird, why, is happiness and pleasure. Any positive feeling.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
- DIRTYBIRD, means a lot to me, since the first time it was told it was love at first sight, especially now that I am part of this big family, I feel speechless for.

Dirtybird almost never puts out a 4-track EP. But Nikki Nair’s “Power Tool” is an exception we’re glad to make.
Claude VonStroke was recently turned on to Nikki Nair by watching Nala's TV Party on the Dirtybird Live streaming network. She played one of his remixes and immediately VonStroke became infatuated with his sound. A cross between breaks, drum & bass, and old-school Dirtybird vibes, Nikki became an instant favorite. His 4-track EP “Power Tool” is a hot record foreshadowing the label's future direction in 2021 when the rules will get loose and its not all going to be about tech house anymore.

The sixth release on Observant adds a set of new but seasoned faces to the roster. The 8 track compilation titled “ Point of View Vol. 2” includes originals by Szmer, Elisa Batti, Dekeyden, Bastian Balders, Dotdat, A Thousand Details, Obstructor and Audio Units.

Proud to present these amazing artists who clearly have gone an extra mile to keep things innovative on this compilation. The driving funk of Szmer’s “Tiro”, leading into the deep percussive trip by Balders Audio head honcho Bastian on “Mode_1”, Obstructors’ incessant rhythmic pulsations on “Recession” and dotdat’s “Thirty Seven” with the quirky leads are for the dark rooms for a heads’ down moment. Whilst Dekeyden’s “Effem Clipping” sets the tone for a great intro with it’s cold drones on a break beat and further meandering into a deeper hypnotic territory with Audio Units’ “Crypt of Decay”. Elisa Batti and A Thousand Details finish off this compilation with their contributions “Hymenoptera” and “Yoshida-San”, both texture laden groove bombs.

Slam kick off 2021 in spectacular style with a brand new, 3 track release, the Final Conflict EP. The duo are without a doubt one of the most prolific productions teams in Techno right now with their discography increasing every year. This latest release moves easily between hard, rave infected Techno to more deep and cosmic elements. 

Title track Final Conflict goes straight for the jugular with the duo leaning on the darker and more driving sound they have become synonymous with on home label, Soma. Pyrrhic brings Slam’s machine funk to the release as a more jacked up beat leads with subtly building synths stabs and atmospheres. Cosmo Disko closes out with the pair stretching their legs, production wise, delivering a fantastically deep, trippy and spacey vibe.

David Granha makes his debut on Markantonio’s AnalyticTrail following his many successful releases on other labels such as Filth On Acid, Octopus, Tronic, Noir and Codex amongst others of equal note.  

Hailing from Madrid in Spain, David Granha has been releasing music for over a decade after first making his name for himself as a producer of melodic styles, before evolving into the dark techno sounds his is best known for today.  A popular DJ booking, he has played everywhere from Berlin to New York and is known for an eclectic style that although centred around techno, also takes influences from a wide selection of sources outside the genre.  

This eccentric techno release is the perfect blend of dark and light while delivering a peak time energy and brooding atmosphere perfect for the dance floor.  “Bacala” opens the release with rattling percussion and slow building tension of the acid bassline that bubbles beneath the surface before erupting after the main break. “Leave the Hole” brings a hint of euphoria while the grinding bassline and jazz saxophone provide a medley of contrasting textures. “The Time Chords” delivers an epic finish with hands in the air synth lines and fast-flowing rhythms that have a timeless sound.

Second State’s latest release is a special one — the debut LP from talented German producer @wigbert. Stepping up for his first full-length, he demonstrates why he’s a firm favorite among so many. The Distorted Matter LP showcases his affinity for both atmospheric mood pieces and pummeling club cuts, the sign of a producer with more than one trick up his sleeve. 

“Uncertainty” opens the album in an ominous tone. As its name suggests, it creates a feeling of unease, even horror, as macabre drones blare underneath bleepy arpeggios. Later on the LP, on “Error 404”, this mood is revisited, with bleeps and static signifying that something has gone awry. The second track on the record, “Reflection” is its hardest hitting. Ice-cold stabs, a pumping kick and driving rhythms send the track into overdrive before creepy arps and drums come back in. It’s complex, layered and unrelenting. 

Night Vision” is threaded with warped off-kilter rhythms, while “Xcelerator” is charged with nervous energy, echo FX and prickling percussion. Other tracks on the LP share this latter mood, such as “Digital Mirroring”, with its windblown synths, distorted vox and broken beats, while the title track heralds a different variety of sounds. The beats on it are also chunky, but the airy pads place it in a more ethereal category. “Drone Level” is similarly lighter in spirit, with arps shimmering over the sound of running water.

The rest of the LP continues in this is more pensive vein, with the rhythms of “Focus” loping under twinkling, reverbed synths, before “Transformed” closes the album in a delicate melange of dreamy pads, chopped up beats, and sounds that mimic insects and nature.

Part of the new brigade of artists making their mark on the label, Veerus lands his fifth release in two years on Drumcode.

With a pair of EPs and numerous contributions to the coveted A-Sides compilation under his belt since his debut in 2018, Veerus has established himself as a talented go-to producer for Adam Beyer; from his stirring cut ‘Hypnosis’ that highlighted the Drumcode founder’s Cercle performance, to the killer ‘System’ that provided an early 2020 moment for the label. His consistent vein of form will result in a coveted spot at Drumcode Festival Malta 2021 in September.

‘Recovery’ continues the Italian’s talent for crafting powerful melody-led techno projections. The title track is an ace. What begins as a smoky atmospheric cut is quickly elevated to beast status as intergalactic robot stabs shatter the mist, while an acid-underbelly adds to the mood. ‘Dysfunction’ brims with a distinct 90s synth aesthetic, propelled by a crisp and classy bottom end.
